Hey everyone and welcome to my page, simply Elke today I'm going to teach you how to crochet for absolute beginners.
Reading Time: 4min 26sec

Today, we'll learn how to make a slip knot, hold your crochet hook, crochet a chain, crochet a single crochet, and weave in the ends of your work. To do this, you'll need yarn, which you can use any basic yarn you have lying around the house or, if you're going to the store, any of their basic plain yarn.
Make sure you purchase a crochet hook made completely of acrylic, I would advise getting one made of metal. I recently purchased it, is available in a range of sizes and may be used for some jobs with yarns of various kinds.
This is practical, try to practice it now to understand. Using a 5.5 mm crochet hook, you will first create a slip knot by holding your own in this manner: with your index finger pointing down, you will twist it upwards and insert your thumb through the same loop. Then, you will grab the tail with both your thumb and index finger and pull through to create a loop. Finally, you will insert your crochet hook and pull the yarn to tighten it. The next step is to hold a crochet hook and your yarn. Typically, you will hold a crochet hook with your thumb and fingers on this indent, and you will have it like you are cutting with a knife to hold the yarn.
There are a lot of ways to hold it, but this is how I always do it: I put the yarn through my fingers like I'm pointing at something, then I wrap it around my pointer finger and grab my work with my thumb and middle finger, so I just put them together like this. The next step is learning how to chain, which involves holding the crochet hook and twisting it away from you before placing it on the left side of this string and turning it to face you. Then, a little bit closer to your left hand, you will pull down and through your hook's loop in that same manner, making that one chain.
So, once more, we have our hook facing away from us. We place it on the left side, face it toward, then toward our thumb, and pull through. It just keeps going like that. To make it easily pass through that loop, turn it away from you on the left side, then toward your left hand. This is known as yarning over. Then, you pull through, face it away from you on the left side, and pull through, pull through, pull through.
We're going to make a chain of eleven, so we have one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, ten, and eleven. Each chain is that V, and each one has a top and a bottom loop, so these are the top and bottom. Now that we're going to learn how to do a single crochet, we'll insert our hook into the second chain, which is this second V. From our hook, we loop yarn over by turning it away from us, then toward our left hand, and pulling through both loops. We skipped the first chain as a turning Stitch.
After we reach the end, we should have 10 stitches, which means we have 10 V's and 10 single crochet stitches, so we have 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 and 10. Next, we'll do another row, and to do that, we'll chain so you face it away from our turn over and pull through, then we'll flip it around so we work into each of the v's, inserting underneath both to make it appear as though you have three loops on it. However, this is just a single crochet stitch, so we come up behind it, yarning overcome out yarn over, and pull through both loops.
You can complete as many rows as you like. To create a square swatch, I'll be doing 12 rows of single crochet. If you're going to continue, you'll be doing one single crochet in each stitch or V, for a total of 10 single crochets in each row. When you reach the end of the row, you'll do one chain, flip your work over, and continue going across. That's it for my little swatch. I should have mentioned earlier that if you ever make a mistake on any of your stitches and want to redo them, simply remove your crochet hook and retrieve the string.
However, you want to go back and redo those stitches, insert your crochet hook, and repeat them. Now that we have finished our Swatch, we will chain one so that the yarn is over and pulled through. Then, you will simply pull your crochet hook, get your scissors, cut it, and pull it tight. If you would like, you can use a sewing needle with a wide opening to weave in the ends, and you can cut the excess with your scissors and do it to the other side. where we chained 11 and then inserted our hook into the second chain because the other one was our turning stitch. We then single-crocheted all the way across. Now that you know the fundamentals of crocheting the chain and single crochet, you can use those two stitches for millions of different projects. Thus, while you're still learning the craft, it's crucial to persevere and practice slowly at first. It may be challenging at first, but you just need to take your time learning the stitches and practice so your hands get used to the movements. and it'll become easier and you'll get better and better so thank you so much for READING this post on how to crochet absolute beginners please subscribe and comment on my page and if you like this course please give it a thumbs up and I'll see you next bye!!!
