People have a tendency to judge others based solely on the entryway they come through and this is exactly why it's important to put down a good old Dog doormat. Not only does it protect the floor, but laying down a good doormat is an easy way to make your foyer instantly look organized and pulled together, as well as protecting guests from all the debris lurking in wet boots and shoes. Of course, it's also imperative to consider what material and size you need your doormat to be and how much floor space you have available so this guide will show you some of our favorites that you can find online at places like Pet Photo Doormat
Indoor-Outdoor Mats. In the first place, make absolutely sure where the doormat is to be used. If it's intended for external circumstances, pick a mat made of materials which are weather resistant such as teak, tropical seagrass or coconut fibers that are far more durable and acceptable in an business environment.
Consider the doormat surface. As you can see, there are a lot of mats for a variety of purposes today. Now when choosing the slats for your entrances, you might consider getting ones with abrasive or textured surfaces which can get rid of any dirt due to the durability and rubber base. Also, worth looking into is a mat design called scraper surface. This type has extra length and beveled edges that make sure no mud stays at all.
Avoid full-on rubber mats during winter :- Although rubber doormats are inexpensive, durable and won't slide when you wipe your shoes, it's better to keep them indoors in the garage or stowed away during wintertime. However, remember that the cold weather and exposure to sunlight will cause the rubber to crack. So make sure you bring out your doormats once spring rolls around again so as to not have anything at all slip through the cracks!
Keep the mat in its place :- On really rainy days, the worst thing that could happen is having your rug slide across the floor. Fortunately, there are always solutions to difficult problems! If you want to keep your rugs from moving around, go with a heavy duty rubber backing that will ensure your rugs stay in place no matter what!
Indoor-only mats :- A lot of doormats claim to be suitable for outdoor use, but it’s important not to take any chances. Mats made from sisal and jute are usually the best choice for indoors because they don't stand up well to the elements over long periods of time. Think of these mats as “transitional” – their job is to catch any lingering debris, not scrape off all the dirt.
Check the size :- While doormats come in many sizes and shapes, it's important that the size of your mat fits with the width of any door where it will be used. Make sure at least 3/4 or 80% the width of a doorway can fit on your new doormat, because no one wants to start slipping all over when going in or out, so indoor mats are best between 1/8 - 1/4 an inch thick. Also consider height: we've all had mats that are too thick and slide or get stuck when we open a door, so keep thick mats to outdoor use.
Clean mats are more effective :- When it comes to dirt and grime, the less you have on your surfaces the better. Prior to posting your products for sale online, whether it be on eBay or Amazon for example you will want to protect the furniture's finish from being stained by certain materials that may land on the mats such as waxed fruits or vegetables. The most efficient way to go about cleaning doormats is to simply hose them down using warm water with a mild detergent
