1. Water helps you lose weight because it controls how much you eat throughout the day. For more info click here.

2. Drinking enough water prevents dehydration and reduces cravings for sugary food.

3. Water lowers blood pressure, relieves headaches and reduces cramps.

4. Water increases metabolic rate, which burns calories faster.

5. Dehydration causes muscle cramping and constipation.

6. A low-calorie drink (water) takes longer to digest than foods high in sugar and fat, therefore, adding water to your diet can help control hunger.

7. Water makes you feel full, which means you'll consume less calories at each meal.

8. When you're dehydrated, your body needs more fuel to operate, which may lead to overeating. As soon as you start feeling thirsty, you know you need to keep drinking water.

9. Water helps regulate your body temperature. If you don't get enough fluids, your core body temp rises. You lose more body heat. That's why staying well hydrated is critical.

10. Water boosts digestion. In order to properly break down food, the stomach needs to stay moist.

11. Water keeps skin smooth and supple. Sweating speeds up water loss, leaving you dry.

12. Water keeps hair shiny. Dry hair reflects light. So if you sweat a lot, your hair will look dull.

13. Water flushes out toxins through urination. Urine is 80% water.

14. Water helps eliminate wastes via bowel movements.

15. Increase water intake

Water is necessary for our bodies to function at peak performance. To ensure we receive enough water daily, drink 8 glasses of water daily. If you’re trying to lose weight, try drinking green tea (or any other herbal beverage), which contains antioxidants that help remove toxins from your body and aids in digestion.

16. Eat breakfast

Eating breakfast helps set your hunger level throughout the day, and gives you the fuel you need to get through the morning. Breakfast should consist of protein-rich foods while avoiding high-fat foods, since they tend to increase appetite later in the day. Try switching out cereal for eggs and toast, or have a bowl of yogurt; both are great options that provide protein without adding fat.

17. Exercise regularly

Exercise increases blood flow and oxygen levels throughout the body, which can boost concentration and improve mental clarity. It also helps burn calories and builds muscle mass, which burns more calories even after exercise is over. When working towards losing weight, exercise also reduces cravings for unhealthy food choices. Exercise also increases your metabolic rate, meaning that you produce more energy than usual, and therefore naturally burn more calories. Consider taking yoga classes - these are great forms of physical activity that concentrate on breathing techniques to promote better health. You don't have to go to a gym either. Find alternatives like walking around the neighborhood, riding a bike, or doing housework.

18. Keep track of what you eat

Write down everything you put into your mouth and weigh yourself each morning before eating. Weighing yourself first thing in the morning can give you insight into whether or not your diet is going well. Write down what time you ate, how much you ate, and if you drank alcohol or caffeine.

19. Avoid processed foods

Processed foods have lots of preservatives and artificial ingredients that may cause weight gain. Read labels carefully and avoid anything that says “diet,” “light,” or “low calorie.” Choose foods that contain natural ingredients instead.

20. Drink plenty of water

Drink six to eight glasses of water daily, especially when exercising or sweating. Water flushes your system clear of toxins and prevents dehydration.

21. Don't skip meals

Try having small snack breaks between meals. These break times help regulate your hormones and keep your metabolism steady. Just make sure to choose snacks that won't derail your diet goals. For more info click here.
