Ever heard of "The 1% Method"?
The compounding effect
You probably have heard of the compounding effect, and no it doesn't only apply to money. It applies to every aspect of our daily lives that needs improvement.
So if you haven't heard of it, let's go see what it is and how we can apply it to our daily lives.
If not, it's all about making small daily improvements to build better habits and become successful overtime.
And that's true:
Imagine you want to make $100k/year (yes it's very realistic) and start your online business to live the life you so wish desire...
But you aren't consistent (like I once was).
The first day you start, your productivity is super charged from nowhere, you're excited..
You rush everything, creating your Instagram business account, Facebook business account, TikTok business and so on publish your website, already run ads, etc)... Give 100%... You even sacrifice sleep... ahhh that one in particular is very common.
But the next day you lose motivation and just scroll on social media, the big question here is WHY?
Instead of approaching things like that, approach them like this:
Start little by little, small progress first. Just like your first day in the gym, you are given simple and little exercise first. The reason is, just so that you don't get overloaded and overworked which will definitely discourage you to come the next day.
Don't give 100% on your first day.
Give 1%. Yes it seems so little but yet extremely powerful. As the famous saying goes Rome wasn't built in a day
The next day you give 1%... And the day after you give 2%... what we call progressive overload.
For instance:
You start with making a small, rough plan first... trust me it doesn't have to be rosy and perfect.
The next day you work on it & make your plan more specific and tailor it to your desired needs and goals.
And the day after you start taking the first step and so on and on.. "gragra" which basically means to "overdo" will make you loose motivation in the long run.
If you approach things like this... It's almost impossible to fail, trust me.
By failing to plan we are planning to fail
Because you're constantly improving and building great habits.
This does not only apply to an online business.
As a student who doesn't like to read or find it hard to grasp and retain information; you can start reading two pages daily for 30 mins.
Rest or have fun within that space of 30 mins and continue. Just build a habit around reading your notes.
Teach what you read to your friends, siblings, classmates, parents or anyone you are comfortable with.
The 1% rule won't make any significant difference in the first few days, but when you look back (track back) your progress you will be happy to have the taken a small step forward.
I'll advice you also get a habit tracking journal which go a long way and help you along your journey. I recommend you get this habit journal/tracker from Amazon
Fall in love with the process not the outcome.
Just persist and get an accountability partner & set rules that will definitely cost you if you don't take the necessary steps.
The difference between a goal getter & a dreamer is definitely execution.
So now you ask your self am I a goal getter or a dreamer? Dreams will always stay as dreams if not acted upon. (I heard that from a movie and it sticked ever since)
So my dear friend I'm rooting for you to take that next small step forward.
Try this out & let me know how this helped you.
All the best.
