Traveling by public transport is very feasible but at what cost, every day masses of people use these transports which are a hub for most diseases. Here's a quick guide for a carefree travel by public transport

Bike taxis and the battle between safety and sanitation

Are you someone who commutes by bike taxis every day? If not every day, at least for once have you ever been sceptical about using the helmets they provide? Helmets are mandatory and no one should violate this rule, however, wearing a helmet used by many is equally dangerous as not wearing one. How would you guard your life and at the same time not compromise on your health?

Follow this easy tip, the next time you ride a bike taxi:

Shower cap: Shower caps are convenient to carry, and fit inside your bag, wallet, and even pockets. Ensure you cover your head with the shower cap before you wear the helmet. Enjoy your ride and don't forget to wash them clean and dry before your next use.

Auto rides- Pollution higher than the fare

The wind blowing on your face while traveling in an auto might give you the main character energy, but in reality, it dulls your brightness and glamour. Dirt and dust deposit on your face causing acne, pimples, and other skin concerns.

Here's how you can avoid the dust build-up on your face:

Masks: Wear a face mask every time you travel in an auto, this prevents dirt and dust from accumulating on your face. You can still get to be the main character after the ride. Remember, heroes always wear masks.

Dealing with Doors and Handles

Ever thought how many hands would have held those doors and grab handles in any public transport? Many as much as the number of germs and dirt on them. Being in contact with these is inevitable, washing your hands with soap and water is the ideal way to deal with it.

In situations where you cannot wash your hands, follow this:

Tissue Paper: Use tissue paper while opening doors and grabbing handles in public transport, this way your hands do not touch the surface directly. This comes to your rescue when you cannot wash your hands after your ride.

Beddings, a big NO

You must have come across many stating that the bedding provided in the Train and Buses are not washed after every use- the truth is unknown. The matter of concern is not just how often these are being washed but how it is washed. When not washed properly these become home to germs and bacteria, leading to internal illness and skin-related issues. It's always best to carry your bedding, especially pillows. If you find it hard to carry a pillow along, here's a quick tip:

Carry an additional bedsheet to cover the pillow provided on the train and have a carefree slumber.

Flights and frights

If you are one of those who think a flight journey is the most sophisticated mode of travel and that your exposure to germs would be lesser when compared to other transports, you're wrong. Flights have more risks of spreading diseases like influenza and other respiratory diseases some of which are highly contagious and fatal. Aircraft have no ventilation leaving passengers to breathe the same air throughout their journey. If a passenger sneezes or coughs, the others would breathe the same air with the germs and bacteria in it.

Here's some basic tips to have a hygienic and safe flight:

1. Cover your nose and mouth while coughing or sneezing to prevent the spread of germs and bacteria

2. Wash your hands before eating

These simple yet useful tips let you have a safe journey without having to worry about your health and hygiene.
