Activities That Will Kill Your Boredom
Laying in bed and starring at the ceiling has become overrated, need a break from your own boredom? It's okay to admit it, I mean we're all on the same boat, we're all experiencing this syndrome together -- the boredom syndrome. I have made the ultimate guide to help you overcome your bland routine.

I can understand where everyoneâs boredom is coming from. And itâs safe to say that weâre all holding on to dear life to survive quarantine. Itâs not fun to be locked up in our houses 24/7 but keep in mind that weâre better off safe in the comfort of our homes. Itâs crucial for us to find something to keep things off our minds, and thatâs why Iâm here to help! As I grow older, Iâve achieved the quality of maintaining my patience. But that doesnât mean Iâve become a boring individual, actually Iâm quite the opposite. I have tried most of the stuff on this list. And I will tell you from experience that itâs extremely fun and time consuming in every good way. Take the time to try something new!
Skateboard/ Roller skate
Iâve overcome the fear of roller skating and Iâve managed to find interest in it. Make sure to find the right pair of skates if you donât already own one. Here are the websites with the best roller skates:
If youâre like me and you're a beginner in the roller skating world, Iâve managed to find helpful tutorials to help anyone learn the basics.
Practice your stance inside your house if you feel like you need to hold on to something for support or donât feel safe doing it outside just yet. Make sure you clear up your space first if youâre practicing inside. Safety comes first, wear safety equipment to keep you from hurting yourself, whether itâs inside or outside. And donât put yourself down if you donât get it right the first time and struggle. Practice makes perfect. The fun thing about roller skating is that itâs fun and easy to pick up. Not only does it take you from spot A to B faster but itâs a thrilling thing to pick up on your own.
Skateboarding is another good occupation too, it amazes me how people are capable of performing so many tricks on them. I haven't mastered the art of skateboarding just yet, it's a work in progress. Although I'm aquatinted with a lot of people that skateboard, some of you may not be. That's why I'm providing a mini-list of tutorials for beginners that want to take on skateboarding! Keep in mind that tricks will always come later on, first you must get comfortable with your board and learn the basic movements.
Places to get efficient skateboards:
Make a new dish or drink!
Lately Iâve been binge watching Korean cooking shows. Cooking is for everyone. As Gusteau from Disneyâs Ratatouille once said, âAnyone can cook!â. There are a variety of drinks and different types of foods to make. If you want to cook tasty meals I advice you to follow these quick and easy cooking tutorials:
And for those interested in making home-made beverages:
Find what catches your attention and donât hold back from showing off your hidden talent!
Exercise
I know itâs easier said than done but exercising is such a good way to make time pass by faster. Itâs both, beneficial physically and mentally. Exercising is one of those things that you can achieve through many forms, whether itâs by yoga, Zumba, jump roping, skateboarding, riding a bike, walking, etc.
Thereâs so many ways to get your blood pumping and your muscles moving. No one has ever said exercising is bad, you will notice the change in your mood. Youâll feel accomplished and youâll feel so much better in your skin. You can even blast your favorite music while youâre getting your body snatched. Release all the bad toxins from within you.
If youâre sore the next day thatâs an obvious sign that you did great! Take that thought and use it as a form of motivation. Keep goingâ obviously take a 1-2 day break in between to let your muscles healâ you wonât regret it. Tell yourself that everyday you're closer to your goal, you go girl!
Workouts I recommend:
If you're interested in exercises that require dancing, I've been watching The Fitness Marshall for 5 years and they never fail to bring a smile to my face! Please go check out their videos, you won't be disappointed!

Have a photoshoot
What better time than to feel yourself? It seems like nowadays we have a lot of time on our hands. Not only will a photoshoot provide you with great pictures to post on social media, but itâs a form of self love. If you have TikTok youâve probably seen the mirror photoshoot thatâs been trending for some time. Try out yourself!
If you have someone thatâs willing to help you outâ as long as it's safe toâ go ahead and ask them for some assistance. But with the advancement in technology we can rely on ourselves and our phone to do all the work.
You can set a timer and pose in front of your camera, you can decorate your surroundings or go outside and have nature be your background in your photos. If you need advice on poses check out these links:
Can't decide which apps to use to take amazing pictures? I got you!
Spa day
On the topic of self love, have a mini spa day all to yourself or with someone that lives with you. Take a breather and lather your face with your favorite face mask, nourish your skin and hydrate it. If you want to come out of quarantine glowing you better pamper yourself! If you have a face steamer use it! If not do it the old fashioned way and boil some water on the stove and let that steam open up your pores. Use a face roller to get rid of your beautiful wrinkles and get the blood flow going.
If you have a bathtub donât hesitate to use a bath bomb or even use bath salt (not the drug) to get rid of the dead skin lingering on your body. I should mention that bath salt does wonders for the skin and will leave it extra smooth! Donât hesitate to scrub your body off and use your favorite body wash. Moisturize your skin with some face cream and throw on some eye patches. And remember to also add some moisturizer to your lovely skin after exfoliating. If you already have a routine then thatâs great! Keep it up!

Write
When I tell you that writing is fun and relaxingâIâm completely telling the truthâ it's fascinating. Itâs both therapeutic and rewarding. You can write whatever youâd like, whether itâs a made up story, ideas/advice, real life stories, or even your emotions. Everyone should at least write once a day or at least once a week. Itâs a safe way to calm yourself down. And if you do end up pursuing it, you can put your work out there for others to read. Thatâs where the rewarding part comes to play.
If people start reading your work youâll feel accomplished, youâll feel proud of yourself for achieving something. At the end of the day you must do things you love; with love. It wonât hurt to try, and you wonât know unless you try. So come up with something, writing has made time pass by so fast for me.
Learn to play an instrument
Most of us have at least 1-2 instruments in our homes. If you donât thatâs perfectly okay and you shouldnât be ashamed of it. Sometimes we allow our instruments to sit around and collect dust. We have long forgotten about them, I know I have. But I took it upon myself to sit down on the bench sitting directly in front of my piano and looked up my favorite songs in the form of piano notes. Youâd be surprised at the amount of songs on YouTube you can easily learn on the piano.
It took me about 20-30 minutes to learn a song and I felt very proud. You can do the same with any instrument, if you have a phone or computer and access to the internet, youâll 100% learn how to play an instrument quickly. If you already know how to play an instrument, learn a new song you can play on it. Expand your talent.
Watch a new show
I have recently gotten into the hit series Shameless, and I recommend it a lot! Thereâs so many shows to come across. Thereâs a variety of shows on Netflix, Hulu, and even Disney+. Sit back and remanence on old tv shows from Disney such as, Thatâs So Raven, The Suite Life of Zack and Cody, Hannah Montana, and many more. Or watch other shows on Netflix such as, The Witcher, On My Block, The Vampire Diaries (if youâre a fan check out The Originals and Legacies), Chilling Adventures Of Sabrina, etc. Make yourself comfy, get some popcorn, get a drink, and enjoy.
Get artsy
You canât go wrong with drawing. Drawing is yet another activity thatâs both therapeutic and rewarding. Drawing reflects a lot of someoneâs personality and thoughts. You can do whatever you please with drawing. You can use markers, paint, crayons, pencils, so many options to choose from.
And who knows, if you look deep within your work, you might see your emotions reflecting from it. You can embed your anger, sadness, and happiness into a piece of drawing. Itâs one of those things that you can also do while listening to music, itâll set the mood even more.
Learn a new language
Learning a language can be tough for some peopleâ coming from a person that knows more than 2 languagesâ I can tell you that itâs possible. If you know one language youâre capable of learning more. Itâs a skill with mixed views; itâs overlooked or praised. No matter what people say, itâs a form of art. It takes focus and dedication. If you truly feel like itâs something youâd like to do, now itâs your time to do so.
The world is filled with many languages, pick one and stick to it. Weâre fortunate enough to have the internet and have access to every tutorial in the world to help us out. Duolingo is a perfect app for those interested in picking up a foreign language fast. Itâs so handy in every way. Another way to improvise your learning, watch movies that speak the language youâre trying to learn, listen to their music, or watch videos on YouTube with people native to the language. Learn about their culture!
Read
You can read books, blogs, articles, the news. Whatever youâre into, thereâs so many options. A book I recommend is "Becoming" by Michelle Obama, the Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling, âThe Water Dancerâ by Ta-Nehisi Coates. There are so many other categories out there to browse, take the time to discover new authors and different genres youâd like to read. Spice up your ranges by discovering different categories.
Browse new music
Everyone needs to expand their playlist ASAP! I will definitely share with you guys my playlist for sure! Itâs filled with every type of music, ranging from Reggaeton Latino, French music, chill music, rap, pop. Discovering new music is always good. A quarantine playlist will subside your boredom.
Check out my article, â The Ultimate Playlist To Get You Through Quarantineâ , if youâre interested in expanding your taste in music!
Manifest what you want
Before I proceed with this topic, I highly recommend watching a documentary called The Secret on Netflixâ itâs also a book. You may have heard the words manifestation and Law of Attraction get thrown around a bunch lately and for good reasons.
People are discovering their own power and choosing to become deliberate creators of their own reality. Whatever you focus on (consciously or subconsciously) is what is going to show up in your life experience. That's right. You are the creator of your own reality. You can achieve this through meditation, asking the universe and appreciating life itself, surrounding yourself with good vibes, trusting the process and staying patient. You can manifest money, love, and any type of success if you truly believe it and work for it.
If you're interesting in manifesting here's some advice:
Conclusion: When you feel like giving up, I want you to know that just because it's a bad day doesn't mean it's a bad life. Just when you think things are falling apart, they're actually falling into place. Every day is a fresh start. You deserve to be happy. Times are tough but that shouldn't ruin your fun. Things will get betterâ trust the process. I hope this article helped anyone!
Thank you for taking the time to read my work! Much love!
