5 Easy Habits That Will Quickly Improve Your Life
These Are Simple, Yet Extremely Effective…
I’m not going to beat around the bush today.
Here are 5 super simple habits you can develop to improve your life asap.
These are based on things I’ve recently begun doing and as a result, the quality of my days have improved massively.
I hope they help you too.

Stretching in the Morning
A few years ago, I was quite flexible.
I couldn’t do the splits or anything.
But I could touch my toes with the palms of my hands, and bend even lower.
Recently however, my old elastic flexibility has been replaced by a chronic stiffness.
For the last few years, I decided flexibility was for fannies and that as a strong, muscular man, I didn’t need to stretch.
The result has been rough.
Simple stretches I used to find extremely straightforward now feel impossible.
Back in the day I’d routinely go to Yoga classes and dominate the mats.
Now, I doubt I’d be able to get through a lesson without pulling a muscle.
The days where I could lean over and place my palms on the floor are long gone.
I can barely touch my toes with the tips of my fingers without bending my knees.

A few days ago, I decided enough was enough.
It’s time to start stretching again.
The reason?
My dad.
I love him very much, but I don’t want to end up like him.
Especially in a physical sense.
My dad is an incredibly stiff individual with zero flexibility whatsoever.
I see how much of a struggle it is for him to even stand up from a sitting position.
I see the way he walks after he’s been sitting down for a long time.
Slow, meandering steps that feel stiff and unnatural.

Lately I’ve been seeing myself develop these immobile traits and it honestly frightens me.
He’s in his sixties, I’m only 25.
There is no excuse for me to be stiff at my tender age.
So every morning, without fail, I’ve started doing a really simple stretching routine.
Nothing crazy, just something that can wake me up and improve my flexibility once again.
I’ve only started doing this again but I’m already seeing the benefits.
Obviously it’ll take quite a long time for me to regain the flexibility I once had.
But with practice and patience, I’ll be impressing ladies in Yoga classes once again!
Reading Anything Educational that You’re Interested In

I have a saying and it goes like this:
“Life is too short to be boring”.
Sure, it’s not quite Chaucer, but it’s mine.
And fundamentally, I think it’s true.
You are only here for a short time.
Therefore, you may as well make it a good time.
How do you do that?
By learning about things you’re naturally curious about.
And the most common way to learn about things is through reading.
If you want to watch, watch.
If you want to listen, listen.
Just make sure that you’re consuming something that genuinely interests you.
Don’t waste time learning about something that other people find interesting because you think it’ll impress them.
Don’t even bother learning about ways to make money if you find the process boring and dull.
You cannot fake genuine interest, it has to be authentic.
Learn about whatever floats your goat and enjoy it.
It’s easy to learn when you’re actually interested in something.
It’s impossible if you couldn’t care less.

This is why I was so terrible at mathematics at school.
I was so uninterested and bored by it that they had to lower the passing standards just to accomodate people like me.
For context, I went to a secondary school in London and to achieve a C at GCSE level, you only needed to get 20% on the maths exam.
20%!!!!!
How ridiculous is that?
Couldn’t they have just hired some better teachers to make the classes more interesting?
But I digress.
I hated maths at school, therefore I had zero interest in learning about it and couldn’t care less if I was good at it or not.

Guitar on the other hand, now that was something I cared deeply about.
So much so that I used to lock myself in my room and practice power chords for hours.
I couldn’t get enough of it.
Now? I still play guitar to this day.
This is the power of genuine curiosity.
Drinking Lots and Lots of Water

This might sound like a dumb one, but I’m not kidding.
I live in Istanbul and yesterday we had a scorching hot day.
It got up to 36 degrees celsius which is the hottest it’s been all year.
Without water, I would have died.
If you live somewhere hot, you need to drink a lot of water.
Even if you live somewhere cold, you need to drink a lot of water.
It’s essential.
Imagine how healthy you’d be if instead of cutting out all the compounds that you’re addicted to, you just drank water.
No coke.
Water.
No coffee.
Water.
This tiny habitual change would make such a massive difference over the course of your life.
Your body is composed of roughly 60% water.
Why aren’t you drinking more of it?
Allow me to geek out for a second, because water doesn’t only help keep you physically refreshed.
It also aids in digestion, circulation, and mental clarity.
In other words, it’s a super chemical.
So, make it a habit to drink lots and lots of water throughout the day.
I’m not going to be one of those weirdos that tells you to drink a gallon everyday.
Just drink a lot.
Writing Things Down

Sometimes, your mind can feel cluttered with thoughts, worries, or problems that seem overwhelming.
That’s where the power of writing comes in.
By putting your thoughts on paper, you gain clarity and a fresh perspective.
Writing is not only an insanely lucrative skill, it’s also a tool to improve your life.
Use this habit to turn your mind’s chaos into productive solutions or creative content.
Whether it’s journaling, blogging, or brainstorming, transform your thoughts into tangible actions.
You’ll be amazed at the mental liberation and problem-solving abilities that arise as you put pen to paper.
The best part about this is that everyone can do it.
If you can read and have hands, you can write.
There’s nothing stopping you from developing this life-changing habit.
And it’s something you can start right away.
Listen to Uplifting or Inspiring Music

Music is like magic to me.
Still to this day I can listen to the same songs I’ve heard for years and find hidden additions that I didn’t notice before.
Whenever this happens, it’s like rediscovering the song all over again.
Recently I bought YouTube Premium and with it I gained access to YouTube Music.
In case you don’t know, YouTube Music is a competitor to Spotify.
It has pretty much all the same features other than being under the watchful eyes of the God that is Google.
Anyway, since receiving this service I’ve been making the most of the music it has available.
And I’m loving it.
For the last few years, I haven’t listened to much music.
I deleted a lot of apps (Spotify).
I stopped taking my phone out with me on walks.
And generally, I was too focused on trying to build a freelance copywriting business to distract myself with music.
But now that my muse is back, I’ve missed her oh so dearly.
There’s definitely a balance to be found here.
Some people listen to too much music and treat it like food, whereas others say it’s just mental programming that you need to avoid.
I love music.
And I love listening to it.
Therefore, not doing so will lower my quality of life.
That’s the simple axiom I currently subscribe to and it’s yielding some very positive results.
And with that, I will end this instructive article.
Bear in mind, these are all things I’ve incorporated into my own life.
These are not cliche habits that I’ve stolen from another writer.
If you want to try them out, go ahead.
If you don’t, whatever.
Find whatever works for you.
There is no one size all solution and some people’s habits won’t work for others.
