You’re on Top. Stay There!
Let's talk about the required ingredients for success.
If you still don't feel very confident, here are some small changes that, along with those things that have made your bosses trust you, will fully contribute to the perfection of the image you want to impose.
1. The attributions are more and more numerous, and the level of responsibility has increased significantly. React accordingly. Do you think it is appropriate to take a break from your worries and stop at what is necessary?
However, you have more work to do, and since you have been promoted, it means that you are quite appreciated and without making extra efforts. Or do you voluntarily undertake extra tasks in an attempt to prove that you can do more?
We opted for the second option. Surely your bosses expect you to bring a fresh breath, to get involved at the highest level in all activities related to your job. Respond to the challenge, do not lower the standards, and do not allow anyone to doubt the choice made. Maybe it's time to find out why you're really capable and push your limits.
2. Relationship with bosses and colleagues - what, how, and how much should be reviewed? Your new status brings you closer to bosses more often. You are aware of your professional value and this must be observed: every meeting can become a very good opportunity to present your projects.
Arm yourself with tact and solid arguments and say what you have to say. It is not a catastrophe if your proposals are not immediately accepted. Maybe it was just the right time and it would be a shame for you to turn the same idea into someone else's project into a successful business project in a month.
At the same time, do not neglect old friendships, especially when former colleagues become current subordinates. Maybe you don't have time to go out with the girls during the lunch break or to analyze together the discount offers from the Mall, but at least try to get to the traditional outing in the city, on the payday. After all, the excellent relations between you have transformed you from a happy gang into the strongest team in the company.
3. Less appropriate habits - in the trash! In the post-promotion era, you are the same, your status is not! For his sake, he's working a little on the image.
If the specifics of the job require a certain outfit, let your jeans, T-shirts, and sports shoes rest until the weekend. It would be a shame to miss lunch with the bosses and the most important client of the company because you are not dressed properly.
In addition, you are beginning to be (almost) barred from the little joys that used to break the monotony of a workday, such as prolonged phone conversations with your mother or friends outside the company, the "academic quarter" given twice a week at the beginning of the program. , or surfing the Internet in search of extra-service information.
4. Crisis management - could be your strength. No matter how well things work in an organization, moments of crisis are inevitable and affect first and foremost those who have to find solutions.
Try to give up the habit of running away from those above - because you can't stand it anyway - and manage on your own. Since the problems appeared in your department, everyone expects them to be solved there as well.
Take a deep breath, analyze the situation on all sides, follow your instinct (your danger detector will warn you if you go in the wrong direction), and propose the most convenient solution. It would be a perfect demonstration of how you understand to take responsibility and continue your professional maturity.
