Is your website & blog SEO-friendly?

Having an amazing website or blog that looks high in search results can be crucial to your business. In addition to continuous production of content, you need a site that the search engines like. Is your blog SEO-friendly?

When you create a new site or blog for your business, there are many aspects to consider. Of course, the site should be visually attractive to visitors, showcase your business in a professional manner, and give visitors the best possible usefulness where content and information are easy to find.

But if no one finds your site or blog, the work will remain fruitless. Keyword optimisation, SEO, has long laid the foundation for all content marketing efforts, but it’s not just about producing weekly content that highlights Google. It’s also about having a website that creates the conditions for keyword optimisation. Here are some recommendations:

1. Keyword optimize your images

More and more make image searches on Google. An important first step to visualizing your photos on Google is to create all tags for all images on your website. It’s extra information that helps Google find good and above all the right information when crawling your site.

Do not use heavy images on your site. Large and heavy images slow down the load time of the site, which in turn affects ranking on Google. Scale down the pictures as much as possible without affecting the quality. Also give the pictures names that match your keywords and what you think your potential visitors will search for. (Refer my previous post on how to rank high using long tail keyword)

2. Update the content continuously

Google is committed to providing its users with the best possible content and attaches great importance to the content being relevant. Therefore, it is important that you continually update your website or blog with fresh, fresh content. If you do not have a blog , you should create one. Employ a person who manages these flows or post the task at a content agency.

3. Optimize your URLs

There is very much to consider when it comes to domain name and URL

a. Try to always have clear, legible and short URLs that contain one or two keywords. Shorter links rank higher.

b. Use HTTPS instead of HTTP if possible. Google has said that they are premiering sites with HTTPS. (Refer Why need HTTPS on website)

c. According to Search Engine Land and several SEO agencies, it is better to use a subfolder instead of subdomain for your blog – you should rather invest in https://www.calvyn.com/ instead of https://www.blog.calvyn.com/ The reason is that a subdomain does not provide the same traffic support to the entire website as a subfolder.

4. Mobile-friendly and responsive

Mobile phones become more important and more important as more and more visitors come to your site via mobile. Google has made first very clear that they favor mobile-friendly sites in their ranking. Having a responsive site is A and O in order for Google to rank your site highly. For us at SEO Melbourne, sites and blogs are always about “mobile first”. This means that we always start from the mobile phone when we create new blogs and websites for our customers. Strange would be otherwise given the majority of visitors coming from the mobile phone.

In the long run, it may also be a good idea to customize your site for voice searches. According to the Search Engine Journal, 55 percent of all young people already use voice search every day. Experts recommend that each site contains a FAQ to satisfy the question-driven visitors.

5. Speed up the site

Slow charging times are the worst both Google and visitors know. Google punishes slow sites and if you are likely to find a slow site, the risk is great for your patience to be deferred properly, which may damage the brand in the long run. Plugins, JavaScript, large images, and social channel sharing buttons can all contribute to a slow site. (Refer to "6 tips on how to optimize page speed"

6. Avoid locked pages

Having content on the site that can only be accessed through membership, subscription or payment also damages the rankings. Should you have locked content, make sure that at least parts of your content are accessible to everyone and that content and pages are optimized.

Conclusion:

Some say create content for human, not search engine; yet in my opinion, if you write a good human content, but you have no idea how to optimize it for search engine, you are like a talent staying in small village, no one ever know you!
