It's a simple answer

By Jacinta AustinPublished 5 years ago 2 min read

During the last week, I came across a question that surprised me, especially as marketing...Why is marketing so important?

It is very simple to answer really...marketing helps you sell your products or service, to make money, and is an essential business function to reach your target market.

It might be a simple concept, but what is the reason why a business should do marketing. Well here are nine:

Marketing is an Effective way of Engaging with Customers

This is not just about pushing offers but letting your customer know what they don’t know.

Marketing helps to Build and Maintain a Company’s Reputation

The growth and life span of your business positively correlate to your business’s reputation, and what your customers think about you. Marketing is a great way to build this reputation and increase your brand equity.

Marketing Helps to Build a Relationship between businesses and their Customers.

Doesn’t matter what type of business or industry you’re in, you need to build a relationship of trust and understanding with your customers. You can do this by segmenting your customers, so your business has a better understanding of your customers’ needs. The more loyal your customers are, the more they are going to buy.

Marketing is a Communication Channel used to Inform Customers

Marketing is a way you can inform your customers about the products or services your business is offering them. They will come to know the value of your products, their usage, and any other additional information about the product or service.

Marketing helps to Boosts Sales

There are SO MANY different ways you can promote your product or service. Once a product has been advertised, it’s already on your customer’s minds, and this increases the chances of selling it.

Marketing aids in Providing Insights about your Business

Making sure you reach the right audience is essential for your business to reach the right people you want to buy your product or service. A marketing strategy can help you establish what business message will convince the target audience. Testing which message works, and finding that perfect message, can be used as a baseline for your marketing efforts.

Marketing Helps your Business to Maintain Relevance

In this day and age where consumers are being bombarded with different messages, your business needs to stay top of mine. To maintain a good relationship with your customer, you need to keep your business relevant.

Marketing Rates Revenue Options

Having options will give you the courage you need to penetrate new markets. (And this is the perfect time to do this!) This gives you the freedom to let go of your demanding customers, and reach new ones.

Marketing Helps the Management Team to make Informed Decisions

Every business is confronted with problems that required questions like what, when, for whom, and how much, are needed to be answered. So how does marketing come into this? Marketing serves as a link between your business and society. You can cultivate people’s minds, educate the public, and convince them to buy.
