- I post onto this account, but in the form of poetry. I’ve realized that I’m not that consistent when it comes to posting something new. With so much thinking lately, why not do blog post, along with poetry on this account?! So you’re probably wondering… WHO AM I? My name is Chay the youngest of 6 children on my moms side! Currently enrolled into college for Psychology Child and Adolescent Development. I haven’t thought much of the fact on how or what I will use this degree for. Although I work with sped kids in a private school, which is what my heart leans to more than ever. When I was younger I did not have the adequate support around me, so with this conclusion it leads me to wanting to help and serve others that aren’t able to help themselves. I dream of having my own practice where children and youth can have a safe space to feel supported when it feels like there is no one else. I dream of being the biggest supporter for all children and youth who feel like their voice is silence. I dream of owning my own practice with three departments. Dance in order to teach others how to express emotions, Life Coaching in hopes to help others push past the surface, and finally i’d like to incorporate a unit with beds for individuals who just need behavioral support for the night or a week.

I’d like to teach children and youth the value of painting, and doing poetry! I would absolutely without a doubt enjoy being able to make a difference in every child and youths life as they navigate tough and stressful situations, as I did not have the right support when navigating to adulthood. So once again you’re probably wondering.. WHO AM I? I’m a 23 year old wanting to make a change in life. I’m someone wanting to better not only myself each and everyday, but also have the opportunity to empower children and youth that are in the shadows. I’ve sat silent for so long and as an artist once said “You’ve got the words to change the nation, but your biting your tongue. You’ve spent a lifetime stuck in silence afraid you’ll say something wrong”. This… This is how I knew… there’s no need to sit in silence when you can empower others through your stories! When the saving I am want to do can be throughout my writing journey.

As I was driving down signal butte in my hometown on August 21st, I looked at my boyfriend and mentioned the words “So many memories down this road” I was only 14 years old when I had the opportunity to meet an individual who had mentioned about a young girl living in a car with her family. I ended up getting her contact information from that individual and began to try being her friend, This girl who’s name was Jessie, was only in the either the 6th, 7th, or 8th grade and I had began begging my mom to let me hangout with her, I expressed to my mom that I had to have a sleep over with her, and the importance of me being a friend to her, because she had no one go get her from a fry’s location and try to help the daughter I had became friends with. No one ever told me it was dangerous to find some random homeless girl and befriend her. My goal was to save her, when I did not know how to save myself at such a young age.

This is the start to my story as I begin to feel more comfortable within my self, I hope that you my viewers can also take the leap to help me be a successful writer. If I want to be the change I have to make you believe it, and it starts with writing!
