What I Learned from 100 Days of Writing on Medium

The first thing I learned after committing to 100 days of writing on Medium was simple but powerful: consistency is everything. Showing up daily, whether I felt inspired or not, was what allowed Medium to actually work for me. Each post, no matter how big or small, was a building block. And more importantly, I discovered that writing about topics people are currently facing is what creates real connection. The more relevant my content was to real-time challenges, the more my readers engaged and stuck around.

But that was just the beginning.

1. Consistency Creates Visibility

Medium rewards writers who show up. Early on, I decided to post every day, even if it was just a quick thought or a short-form idea. Within a few weeks, I noticed a clear boost in impressions and follower growth. My articles began reaching more people, not because they were perfect, but because they were consistent.

If you want to build presence, consistency is non-negotiable. It not only tells the algorithm you’re serious, but it tells readers you’re reliable.

2. Write for the Present

One of the biggest lessons I learned is this: when your writing reflects what people are currently going through, your impact multiplies. Whether it’s burnout, motivation, AI tools, or managing time as a creator, tapping into today’s realities helped me deliver more value and get noticed.

Writing about the present moment allowed me to paint the bigger picture. Readers don’t just want information, they want context. Give them that, and they’ll come back for more.

3. Give Tips & Link to Value

People love learning. And they love easy wins. I noticed a spike in engagement when I started offering practical tips, like how I batch-write content or tools that help me plan weekly ideas. I also made a habit of linking to helpful content, whether it was my own previous article or someone else’s guide.

This creates two major benefits:

It builds credibility and trust with your readers.

It encourages longer time spent on your content, which Medium also rewards.

4. Engagement Over Virality

Going viral may feel good, but it’s sustainable engagement that builds your writing brand. I learned to ask questions at the end of my articles, reply to every comment, and build actual conversations. That human connection translated into regular readers and true community.

Medium favors genuine connection. Be real. Be you.

5. Track and Strategize Growth

I treated my Medium account like a platform, not a blog. I tracked which headlines got clicks, when to publish for max visibility, and what tags pulled new eyes to my page. Some strategies that worked:

Posting between 7–9 AM EST

Using 3–5 niche-relevant tags

Creating mini-series (like “30 Days of Writing Tips”)

Embedding CTAs (calls-to-action) to build email lists or followers

Final Tip: Why Medium + Vibe Builder Works

Writing consistently for 100 days on Medium showed me the power of discipline, relevance, and connection. But more than that, it taught me that showing up with intention and clarity is what sets a writer apart. That same mindset of purposeful expression is what inspired me to share one of my favorite tools: The Vibe Builder — a simple and powerful resource you can find at https://stan.store/Nettavibes.

So, why does this matter for writers and creators?

It Helps You Align Your Energy Before You Create

The Vibe Builder is designed to help you record your affirmations, your intentions, your mindset, your energy, before you dive into your writing or daily goals. Just like warming up before a workout, setting your vibe aligns your thoughts and emotions with your creative mission. That clarity often translates into more focused, impactful writing.

It Builds Confidence Through Repetition

One of the things I learned through 100 days of writing is that confidence builds through action and repeated belief. The Vibe Builder helps reinforce the truth you’re choosing to live by each day. Whether you’re affirming, “My words have impact” or “I am building a strong writing platform,” this tool makes it easy to speak it, believe it, and return to it whenever doubt creeps in.

Medium taught me how to share my voice. The Vibe Builder helps me strengthen it, by reminding me who I am and what I bring to the table, one affirmation at a time.

If you’re a writer, a creator, or someone just trying to stay aligned with your goals and inner voice, this tool is for you.

Medium is a great platform to learn and share, although it's been increasingly difficult to earn from it with the same amount of effort I put in before. Nonetheless, thanks for sharing and keep writing!
