Website hosting refers to the process of storing a website's files and data on a server so that it can be accessed on the Internet. A domain, on the other hand, is a unique web address that people can type into their browsers to visit a specific website.

Hosting a domain on Google means putting your website on the internet and making it accessible to users through Google's servers.

A hosting domain name refers to the website address or URL where a website is stored and accessed on the internet.

When you want to create a website, you usually need two important things: a place to store your website's files (hosting) and an address for people to find your website (domain).

To get a hosting service and a website address, you can follow these steps:

Figure out what your website requires: Think about the kind of website you want to make, how many visitors you expect, any specific things you want it to do, and how much money you have to spend. This will help you pick the right hosting plan.

Search for a good company that can provide the hosting services you require. Some well-known companies that offer website hosting services are Bluehost, SiteGround, HostGator, and DreamHost. To make a smart choice, look at their characteristics, costs, assistance for customers, and reviews from users.

Choose a hosting plan:

Hosting companies offer different plans that have different amounts of storage space, bandwidth, speed, security features, and support for customers. Pick a plan that fits what you need and what you can afford.

You can buy a domain from a hosting provider. Instead, you have the option to use another company that helps you register a domain, such as GoDaddy, Namecheap, or Google Domains. Look for website names that are still not taken and register the one you like the most. Make sure to renew your domain registration regularly to keep ownership.

Connect your hosting and domain together:

After obtaining both hosting and a domain, you will need to link them. The way things are done may be different depending on the company that hosts your website and the company where you bought your domain. However, it usually means changing the domain's DNS settings to point to the server of your hosting provider. Your hosting provider will give you the important DNS information.

Create your website:

Once you have connected your website address and the place where it will be stored, you can begin constructing your website. This usually means creating and building your website's pages, adding content, and setting everything up. You have the option to create a website using tools like WordPress, Wix, or Squarespace, or you can build a unique website by coding it yourself using HTML, CSS, and other programming languages.

To put your website on Google, you can use Google Domains to register your domain name and Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to host your website. Here is a guide that will explain each step to help you with the process:

Buy a website name:

If you don't have one yet, you can get one through Google Domains (domains. google) Look for a website name that is not taken and go through the steps to buy it.

Create your GCP account:

If you do not already have a GCP account, visit the website of Google Cloud Platform (cloud. google com) and register for an account. You might have to give payment details to make and handle your GCP projects.

Make a project:

In the GCP Console, make a new project or use a project you already have to hold your website. Go to the dropdown called "Select a project" in the top navigation bar. Click on "New Project". Then, follow the instructions to set it up.

To allow App Engine:

Go to the "App Engine" page in your GCP project. To make the App Engine service work, just do what the instructions say. App Engine is a service provided by Google that lets you put your website on the internet.

Create your own website:

Use the required technologies to construct your website. If you want a simple website, you can use HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. If you want your website to do more things, think about using a web framework like Flask or Express. js Make and try out your website on your own computer before putting it on the Google Cloud Platform.

Put your website on App Engine:

When your website is done, put it on App Engine. The way to set up and use technology or software can be different depending on what tools or resources you use. Usually, you have to set up a file called app. yaml or appjson to choose the runtime and make other configurations. Look at the guide for your chosen technology to get step-by-step instructions on how to set it up.

To connect your domain to App Engine, go to the Google Domains console and find your domain management settings. Find the section called "Custom resource records" or "DNS" and put in a new record. Make a CNAME record that points the "www" subdomain (or any other subdomain you want) to the App Engine URL. The App Engine URL usually looks like "project-id. appspotcom" Keep the changes.

If you want to make your website more secure with HTTPS, you can add an SSL certificate. Google offers SSL certificates that you can use, or you can use your own certificate. This step makes sure that your website is accessed through a safe and secure connection. Look at the App Engine documentation to learn how to set up SSL certificates.
