What are the top 10 movies of 2022?
the top 10 movies

It can be hard to predict what movies people will be watching ten years from now, but it’s always fun to try! This list of the top 10 movies of 2022 answers the question that’s on everyone’s mind in the early part of this decade: what movies will people be talking about and recommending to friends then? These are some well-made flicks that should prove popular with audiences for many years to come.
#1. Avatar 2
This movie is on everyone’s mind. It’s been a few years since we saw Avatar, but that doesn’t mean we don’t all talk about it often. And who wouldn’t want to see it come out again, especially in 3D! If you haven’t seen Avatar yet, I highly recommend you do because if you don't, then there's no way to really understand why everyone is so excited for its sequel. If anyone knows how hard it is to make animated sequels these days, it's Pixar - their success with The Incredibles 2 has been met with mixed reviews from critics and fans alike.
#2. Westworld Season 2
Westworld was a cultural phenomenon in 2016 and Season 2 is expected to take it even further. Following up on one of the biggest cliffhangers in TV history, Westworld season 2 is set to drop everyone in a new world. While it will be hard to outdo last season’s opening episodes, Westworld has enough talent behind it and fan demand driving interest that it will certainly be one of — if not the top — movie in 2022. #1.
#3. Half Life 3
Half Life 3 was confirmed at E3 2013, but after a year and a half without any update on development, gamers were beginning to doubt that it would be released. However, in May 2014 Valve posted an update on their Steam site which revealed that they had reached the tail end of our announced schedule with no further information regarding its release. Half Life 3 will undoubtedly be one of the top selling games in 2022! With cutting edge graphics and gameplay, it's sure to capture attention from both longtime fans and first-time players alike. The only question is: When can we expect it?!
#4. Frozen 2
People have been looking forward to a sequel ever since Frozen came out. Not only is Frozen going to be number 4, but it’s going to top every box office in 2022. This is because everything that Disney touches turns into gold. The original brought in $1.2 billion worldwide and with all of these new special effects and graphics, it’s not hard to imagine why Frozen 2 will be on everyone’s list for top 10 movies of 2022. #5 High Rise: The highest grossing movie of 2016 came in at number 3 for 2021, so an updated version could possibly make it even higher up on everybody’s lists for Top 10 films in 2022.
#5. Star Wars Episode VIII
For a good sequel, start by building on what you already have. That’s exactly what Star Wars did for episode 8. And we must say, they started with a bang! Not only do we get to see new plot twists and an exciting storyline, but also some surprising cameos as well (no spoilers). More details on our 5th biggest movie of 2022 coming soon... Coming in at number #5 is Star Wars Episode VIII. This one surprised us, because most sequels usually aren’t that great compared to their original counterparts (see: The Matrix Reloaded), but considering how awesome Star Wars VII was, fans are ecstatic about seeing more from Rey and Luke Skywalker when Episode VIII hits theaters next year. What made it so great?
#6. Avengers 4
The Avengers have finally been brought together under one roof, but when a dangerous enemy from Loki’s past arrives on Earth and Hell, it may not be enough. This movie will answer all remaining questions about who we can trust, why everything happened in Infinity War, and how it fits into what happened in Phase 1. The first part: No spoilers! Part 2: Where do we go from here? Part 3: What did we learn from The Winter Soldier?
#7. Destiny 3
Destiny 2 had a lot of work put into it, but players have been waiting for over 6 years now for a sequel. Due to Destiny 1 and 2 both being extremely popular games, it’s no wonder that gamers around the world want another chance to play as their favorite class. This game was even featured in an episode of South Park, making it popular among people who don’t even play video games! The third Destiny installment is rumored to include tons of new areas and different methods of transportation, so players will be able to explore their surroundings like never before. Since not much information has been released yet about what exactly we can expect from Destiny 3, I hope my #7 spots is enough to prove just how excited I am for its release! [End]
#8. Uncharted5
The Lost Legacy. Though Naughty Dog's series wrapped up with Uncharted 4: A Thief's End, a new film will be coming in 2022 as a tie-in to expand on that game's plot. It'll focus on Chloe Frazer and Nadine Ross, two previously antagonistic characters who team up to find treasure. With Ellen Page rumored to return in an expanded role, and Laura Bailey returning as Nadine after years away from voice acting, there’s plenty for fans of the series to look forward to. The producers have announced that shooting begins in just 3 months and Sony has set a 2018 release date for it. What do you think about Chloe being your new Uncharted heroine?
#9. Tetris Movie Trilogy
Technically a movie based on a video game, Tetris will be getting its own trilogy in 2022. The first film, aptly titled Tetris, is about an old man who finds himself living in a world where everything and everyone is made up of Tetris pieces. In order to save himself and his wife from endless falling tetrominoes, he must play through over 30 levels and defeat a never-ending stream of angry ghosts. It’s actually going to be pretty good.
.
A live-action, two-hour movie about a group of teenagers who travel around our world collecting Pokemon. The first half takes place in San Francisco and highlights famous landmarks like Fisherman’s Wharf, Alcatraz Island, Lombard Street and Golden Gate Park. The second half takes place in Japan and features sites like Tokyo Tower, Roppongi Hills, Shinjuku Station and Mount Fuji. This movie will be released during Golden Week (Japan’s most popular vacation week) in May 2022. For those of you not familiar with Pokemon Go, it was a video game released by Nintendo in 2016 where people used smartphones to capture Pokémon that appear at real locations throughout their town or city. It reached more than 500 million downloads within two months!
