Watch My Small Beauty Company Grow! (Or Fail!)

Who Knows?

I am a person who enjoys the journey, rather than the destination.

I have always enjoyed setting goals that were out of the left-field, and impulsive. And I have always been the kind of person to want to experience all that life has to offer.

I am fortunate to be able to have a job that allows me to work at home. And while I am a grateful homebody, I don't do well with boredom. Boredom leads to restlessness, and restlessness leads to impulsivity.

To avoid going outside unnecessarily, I invest myself into projects and hobbies. They sometimes do not work out, and sometimes they do. But more importantly, I find the experience of learning something new to be therapeutic.

I have liked makeup for a long time. I am not the best at it, nor do I have any experience making it. I also have no experience creating any beauty product, for that matter.

So I think I am going to start a small makeup/beauty company. I have never run a business, either.

To be transparent, I have thought about this project for some time. But for the most part, I am starting from ground zero.

I wanted to document the growth(or failure)of a business from complete scratch. I am excited about the journey, and I am even more excited to share this journey with all of you.

On this platform, I will be posting everything from my research, to potential product names, to packaging design. I also want to upfront about the financial aspect of this journey as well.

As fortunate as I am about having a job, I'm not exactly raking in big money at the moment. I have enough to pay my rent, pay my bills, and to be a generally functioning adult. I have a few hiccups along the way.

I don't know how long this blog will go on. I guess it depends on how far I get in creating a small business. If my business does not take off, or if I find myself investing money that I know I won’t get back, I will have to call quits on the project.

I have a small idea of what I would like my company to be focused on. I would like my makeup and beauty products to be focused on the things that I find resonate with me.

There are a lot of things that I was drawn to in my childhood. Certain places, phenomenons, dreams, and toys will paint my inspiration for my project. As much as I want my products to be visually pleasing, I also want them to smell and feel good.

I believe that beauty engages all of your senses. But ultimately, I’m kind of talking out of my a**. I don’t know the mechanics of creating a product and distributing it on a big level. Not yet, at least. I hope that I will learn.

I guess that’s a vague way of describing it, but I don’t want to reveal too much until I start discussing the brainstorming aspect of the project.

If you are someone who would like to see me attempt to go through this process, then please stay tuned. I intend on uploading at least once a week or more, depending on where I am in the process. I will be posting weekly updates here, and I will be posting video content with the information I have learned along the way on my Patreon.

Thank you all for reading, and I hope to see you down the road,

Clementine.
