Vocal Media Honest Review after 3 years Writing

Writing for Vocal.Media

By GracePublished 6 years ago 3 min read

I have been writing for Vocal Media since before they were this huge platform with thousands of authors and readers!

I remember seeing the ad on Facebook back in 2016 or 2017 looking for content writers. Me having published 3 eBooks, I sought out more than that, I wanted to make an income without doing a ton of advertising and I took a chance as there were not very many reviews anywhere on the web. I wrote about 1 story every month give or take.

There have been times when I wouldn't even login for a few months and I would check my account and have $15. I remember seeing that number on my screen, it wasn't much at the time compared to the pay out on vocal media plus.

My total withdraw year to date has been about $200, which is not a lot, but for the lack of stories I do and not much marketing on my end, I thought it was nice pocket change. Writing for Vocal Media has been my way of getting that extra tank of gas for travelling back and forth to nursing school.

I wanted to do this honest review because as of Today (5/23/2020) I am now a Vocal Media+ member and I will be doing a review on that in the future!

What life was like before Vocal Media+ was a thing, was very different, but one thing has not changed is their customer service. Both problems I had were resolved within 48 hours and everyone on the team was very nice!

I will be honest, I was not the greatest writer back then, heck, I still am not the greatest, but I ENJOY it and that's what counts. I have had a few posts denied for different reasons, but when they denied the post, they gave feedback as to why it was denied and different suggestions on what to fix. It was clear and concise. I have never had a fixed post denied a second time because the directions were clear stated on what was needed to get the post approved.

The payout used to only minimum of $20 I believe, which did not last very long when it changed to $35. Which is fine, I thought of it as "saving money" because it was not technically mine until I reached the minimum cash out amount.

That leads me to the next thing, the free (standard) membership is $3.80 per 1000 reads, now it is supposed to be $6 per 1 thousand reads.

They also never use to have different contests to win even more money, which I will be trying out as well, so make sure you do too!

Fees on tips on the free membership is 7%, with Vocal Media+ it is only 2.9% so that is always a plus as well.... (No Pun Intended) :)

My author page is where I send all prospective collaborators, employers, and anything else that requires writing samples. Doing this has landed me pretty big success with other gigs.

In the end, Vocal Media is worth signing up for even for the free membership as it is nice extra pocket change. I am reviewing the Vocal Media+ membership because I would like to see if it is just as great or better than what it previous was, even though both were great!

P.S It is very nostalgic to sit here and think about how far Vocal Media has come in just the few short years they have been around and I am so happy I was able to be along for the journey called "Growth". If you have a story to tell, this is the place to tell it.

You Rock Vocal Media!
