All India Civil Services
AIS or the All India Services provides for three civil services and they are IAS(Indian Administrative Service), IPS(Indian Police Service), and IFoS( Indian Forest Service). One of the unique features of AIS is that the staff are recruited by the Central government but they can be placed in service to various state cadres so they have the option to work under both the Centre as well as the state governments. The All India Service Rules make guidelines and regulations for payment, leave, conduct, allowances, etc. and all the staff have to comply with them.
Below, brief details on the 3 services of AIS have been provided:
IAS –
Indian Administrative Service is one of the strongest pillars of the Indian and State Governments. IAS Cadre has to bear the responsibility of formulation and implementation of government policies. The IAS begin their probationary period training at LBSNAA in Mussoorie.
IPS –
Another prestigious post of AIS is IPS or the Indian Police Service. The officers are trained at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy which is situated in Hyderabad. IPS Officers occupy the senior ranks in the police service, in positions like RAW, IB, CBI, etc.
IFoS –
IFoS is the third category of All India Civil Services and the Cadres to this post serve under the Ministry of Environment, Forest, and Climate Change. Director-General or DG of Forests is the highest position of IFoS working with the Central government and the highest position of IFoS working with the State government is Principal Chief Conservator of Forests. IFoS officers also work with various agricultural organizations like FAO (Food and Agricultural Organisation).

IPS-

IFS-
The average salary of an IFS officer starts from around 13,00 and can go up to 90,000 or even 2 lakhs depending upon the rank and posts. The list of posts under IFS are 1st secretary, 2nd secretary, 3rd secretary, counselor, minister, joint secretary, director, etc.
IFoS-
The average salary of an IFoS officer is around Rs.15,000 to Rs.67,000. The posts listed under this category are Divisional Forest Officer (DFO), Conservator of Forests (CF), Head of Forest Forces (HoFF).
ICFS-
The average salary of a person working under Indian Post and Telecommunication Accounts and Finance Service receives around Rs. 67,000 annually. The amount can vary for different posts and ranks. The list of posts under this is Assistant Chief Accounts Officer, Joint Controller of Communication Accounts, Assistant Director-General, etc.
