I fell off the wagon for a while there, and anyone who knows me will say that I’m one of the most hardworking creators out there. I write daily, I create YouTube content daily, I’m a beast.

Well, that’s what they used to say about me until I fell off and got lazy. Honestly speaking, I had a mental breakdown. That’s what happened. I couldn’t bring myself to write or create video content anymore. I didn’t feel like having endless meetings with clients and community members, I was done.

I needed the rest.

But now, I’m back.

So, here’s how I’m rebuilding my content business with TikTok food trends and poems about famous people:

I got the idea to start creating content about TikTok food trends when I read an article on a website called The Every Girl. They create addictive lifestyle content over there, and one day, I got sucked into the TikTok food trend bubble after reading an article about a specific food trend. Cucumber salads.

The cucumber salad trend was started by a creator called Logan. He coined the phrase “Sometimes you need to eat an entire cucumber” then he makes a simple, delicious cucumber salad by slicing the cumbers using a mandolin, adding ingredients to a plastic container, and then shaking the container vigorously to reveal a yummy looking salad.

He eats the salad with chopsticks and honestly, he makes you want to purchase a whole truckload of cucumbers to make all these tasty looking recipes.

Logan has built a whole business around cucumber salads and although the trend isn’t going wild anymore, it’s still possible to build a career out of eating cucumbers on the Internet. Or by tapping into any other food trend, or create your own food trend and be a trailblazer, but you don’t have to start a trend or create something new to profit from food these TikTok food trends, just identify the trends and create content that reacts to them.

There are many creators out there such as On the Cheap Tip who reacts to viral skincare and life hack trends, he then re-creates the trend to test it out. It’s such a fun way to create content because you’re always trying something new.

Here’s how I’m using these food trends to cash in big time:

  • Create videos and post on YouTube (monetize with Adsense and digital products such as recipe books)
  • Write articles and publish them on Vocal, Medium, and my own blog
  • Create an entire website about TikTok food trends and monetize with ads and recipe books.

You can literally build a million dollar digital business by tapping into TikTok trends. I say TikTok trends because this is where most of these food trends start, then they trickle down to Instagram and YouTube, but they usually start on TikTok first.

I’m so excited about creating this content because it’s so fun to make. I love going shopping for the ingredients and learning how to make new recipes, it doesn’t feel like work at all.

Would you try this? Hey, why not?

The second thing I’m doing to rebuild my content creation business is to create poems about famous people. It sounds weird right? But it’s highly profitable, and the great thing is, you’ll never run out of ideas.

I came up with this idea after listening to a song by popular singer Sza. The song is called “Drew Barrymore” and Sza wrote the song as a tribute to the actress and talk show host. I went down a rabbit hole of learning more about Sza and decided to write a poem about her.

I also wrote one about Drew Barrymore and posted it right here on Vocal. After writing about Drew and Sza, I decided to create a poem about Michael Jackson, and another about trending rapper Kendrick Lamar. I recorded these poems and posted them on one of my faceless YouTube channels, and to my surprise, they gained some decent traction.

I checked last week and discovered that the Kendrick Lamar poem had a staggering RPM of £56 which is really high considering the fact that most creators don’t even receive half of this per thousand views. I am still completely mind-blown by this and it made me realise that this could be a really profitable creative side hustle.

I won’t stop working on these poems now because firstly, it’s such a beautiful, and creative way to make money, and also, my audience love the poems so far, so why stop? Secondly, I can build a whole mini business around teaching people how to build an income stream by creating content about famous people.

Most people go down the celebrity gossip route, but I feel like this is far more creative and fulfilling because you’re not hurting anyone by spreading gossip which is often found on sites that don’t fact check before they post. This celeb gossip stuff is about quick money grabs and I’m not in the business of creating to make a quick buck, although it’s nice to get that check, I can’t lie about that. It’s a wonderful feeling to create and get paid for it, but to spread gossip and rumors, that’s not for me.

Right now, I’m monetizing my poems with Adsense on YouTube, but I’m working on adding extra income streams such as print on demand merchandise and digital products.

Would you try these ideas?
