The TikTok Great Lock-In Challenge: Why I’m Adding Manifestation to the Mix (and Why You Might Too)
Betting on yourself is the ultimate form of self care
Every season, TikTok gifts us a trend that feels more like a mirror than a meme. This time, it’s The Great Lock-In Challenge — a collective call to focus deeply from September 1 through December 31, to treat the last four months of the year as fertile ground instead of dead time.
And this one? I’m in. Not just because I love challenges (though I do — obsessed, really), but because I’ve seen what they can do.
Why I Can’t Resist a Challenge
For years, I’ve built my life by stacking challenges month after month.
There was the season I challenged myself to cut out debt. Another where I focused on fitness. The months I committed to business experiments, writing sprints, and yes — even just waking up at 5am every single day.
Each challenge carved away something small, but the sum of those choices? It completely turned my life around.
That’s why when I saw The Great Lock-In appear on TikTok, I didn’t hesitate.
What Makes This Challenge Different
The Lock-In is 121 days — long enough to see real transformation, but short enough to feel urgent. It’s not about doing everything, but about locking into one thing.
That “one thing” could be building a business, hitting a financial milestone, finishing a book, or cultivating discipline. The rules are simple: decide what matters most, commit, and let the days add up.
But for me, I’m not just locking in. I’m layering in manifestation.
Manifestation Meets the Lock-In
Lately, I’ve been following Sammy Ingram, who teaches a direct, unapologetic approach to manifestation. Her philosophy is clear: claim it, assume it, persist.
So here’s my twist: my Lock-In isn’t just about taking action — it’s about aligning my mindset every single day with the reality I want to create. I’ll journal my affirmations, visualize the version of me at the finish line, and use manifestation as the fuel behind the discipline.
Because what is a challenge, really, if not a declaration of belief? A belief that four months is enough time to change, enough time to become, enough time to unfold.
Why You Should Try It Too
If you’ve ever had that itch — the one that whispers “this year could still be different” — then the Great Lock-In might be your permission slip.
Here’s why:
✅It’s focused. One goal, four months. No scattering.
✅It’s flexible. Your “lock-in” can be personal, financial, creative, or spiritual.
✅It’s proven. We know habits stack. Four months is long enough to see tangible results.
✅It’s communal. Even if you don’t post on TikTok, there’s a sense of collective energy in knowing thousands of people are locking in with you.
My Invitation to You
Maybe you want to write your book. Or hit that revenue goal. Or finally give your health the attention it deserves.
Whatever it is, try this:
1. Choose your lock-in.
2. Commit out loud (write it, post it, whisper it to yourself).
3. Layer in belief — whether that’s manifestation like me, or simple daily reminders.
4. Let the season carry you.
Closing Thoughts
I used to wait for New Year’s resolutions, but I don’t anymore. I know the power of a challenge, and I know the magic of a focused stretch of time.
So here I am: locked in, manifesting, and letting this season be proof that growth doesn’t wait for January.
Maybe you’ll join me. Maybe you’ll find your own version. Either way, the leaves are turning, the days are shortening, and there’s still room in this year for you to change your story.
