Introduction

I've always been a believer in the idea that you can use your mindset to change your life. If we reflect on the way that our thinking affects us, it becomes clear that this is true in every moment of our lives.

For example, if you're focused on achieving success and gaining wealth at all costs—and there are many people who do this—then your thinking will be self-defeating because it's based on fear rather than positive outcomes.

But if instead of focusing on creating value for yourself or enjoying life's opportunities, you worry constantly about what will happen to your business when the economy tanks again and how much money you'll have left when Social Security goes bust—well…you get where I'm going with this.

Thinking like a millionaire isn't just about success, but it also isn't just about gain.

The first thing you need to know is that thinking like a millionaire isn't just about success, but it also isn't just about gain. While money can be an important factor in your life, it's not the only one.

Freedom is what we're really talking about here—freedom from worry, stress and drama; freedom from being stuck in one place because you're afraid of making mistakes; freedom from living paycheck-to-paycheck because you don't have enough money for bills each month; and most importantly, freedom from feeling trapped by debt or other financial obligations that prevent your dreams from coming true.

Think about how many times throughout your life there has been some kind of obstacle preventing you from doing what makes sense for yourself?

Maybe school wasn't going well so instead of pursuing higher education or finding another job after graduation (which would've helped pay off student loans), maybe instead taking time off work was easier than leaving an office job where they paid well but provided little flexibility while working toward long hours every week day plus whatever extra weekend work needed done around holidays too!

Or perhaps she left home at 18 and moved far away, starting over somewhere else with no family nearby except distant relatives who lived far away themselves.

moving far away again...and again...until finally after going through all these changes multiple times since childhood itself (which means losing touch with friends at college level)

You can upgrade your mindset by shifting your focus.

  • You can upgrade your mindset by shifting your focus.
  • Focus on what’s most important to you.
  • Focus on achieving your goals, instead of focusing on the process of achieving them.
  • Focus on the outcome you want, rather than just trying to get there in the first place (or even later). This is called “the freedom strategy."

How to Think Like a Millionaire

The first step to thinking like a millionaire is to focus on your freedom strategy. A millionaire has a clear vision for what they want their life to look like, and they know that success is not defined by money. They don't spend hours each day trying to figure out how much money they should have or what it will take for them to achieve their goals.

A millionaire is not concerned with material things like cars, houses and clothes; instead, he focuses on enjoying life's experiences.

Focus on Your Freedom Strategy First

To begin, you need to focus on your freedom strategy. What that means is really thinking about what’s most important to you—not just in terms of money but also happiness and fulfillment.

First off, create a list of all the things that make up a successful life for yourself (not just what's on TV). Then decide which ones have been most effective at helping you achieve those goals so far (e.g., getting into grad school or becoming an entrepreneur).

Finally, look at all of those things together—and ask yourself how much time each one demands from your day-to-day life: if any require more than an hour per day; if any require more than five hours per week; etcetera . . .

Now that we've identified all our "musts" and their corresponding hours required each week/month/yearly basis, let's talk about how we can make sure we're spending enough time doing them!

Takeaway:

  • Focus on the freedom strategy first.
  • Focus on what you want out of life, not what you don't want.
  • Focus on what is important to you, not what is important to other people.

Conclusion

The Millionaire’s Success Mindset is one that we can all benefit from. The lessons it teaches us about life and money can help us live better.
