Tell Me Why

Omg, whyyyy??

Gas prices at Pilot - Williamsburg, KY

The picture posted is of gas prices in my hometown at the cheapest place to get gas — Pilot.

I live in a small town called Williamsburg, KY. A place where we have more Mexican restaurants than we do parks. A place where there are more doctors offices than restaurants. A place where gas prices are haunting us all.

Someone tell me why? Why does it have to be like this? It’s almost like gas stations know when we are needing gas the most to bump those prices up.

I know it’s not the gas stations fault for their increase in prices. But why are they increasing so steadily? Sure! It could be from that “free” money we got. (Remember, nothing in this life is free.) but why not raise them and keep them at that price? Why is there a steadily increase?

My family owns two cars — Jeep Grand Cherokee L and a Dodgr Ram. Two words —> GAS HOGS.

Yeah, I hear ya… “y’all chose those vehicles, it’s not our fault”

And all I have to say is, we chose those vehicles because 1. They fit our family of 5 comfortably and 2. At the time we had no idea gas would be this high.

$92.10 is what I paid to fill up my JEEP. Ninety. Two. Ten. Freaking. Cents.

Insane!!

I am a school teacher and bring home roughly $2200 a month. My husband works in an office bringing home rougher $750 every two weeks.

Sure, go ahead and say it. “YoU aRe A tEaChEr, YoU gEt SuMmErS oFf AnD sTiLl GeT pAiD.” Listen people, I get my summers off BUT I DO NOT GET PAID FOR THESE DAYS. A teachers salary is split up into twelve months to be sure we get a paycheck during the summer. But if you do the math, I really don’t get paid for these days.

Like every other American, we have bills to pay aside from gas prices. But why???

You’re probably asking yourself why I keep asking why?

Here is the ultimate question. Why am I struggling? Struggling to buy gas. Pay bills. Feed my family.

But Bernice in the holler gets all of the assistance needed and can take trips and plan fun days to amusement parks without even thinking of money. Has food stamps out of the wazooo. But here I am, a hard-working American who does everything faithfully and in the most humane way —✨struggling✨

I just don’t understand. I paid $92.10 for gas when my normal fill up price is $45-$50 dollars depending on where I go. That’s an extra $40 that could be used towards food, bills, trips, something fun!

Why do I have to struggle when those who don’t even know what struggling is get all of the assistance and can live a great life.

If you’re not rich, you’re middle class or the low class. But even in low class you can get assistance. I’m middle class. Middle of everything. No assistance. Always struggling. Trying to make ends meet. Wondering how it’s all going to come together. And I continuously just ask why?

Life isn’t fair my darlings. Really it’s not. As I get older and see how corrupt and messed up our government is, the more tempted I am to run for president. I’m kidding, but am I?

Why do I have to struggle while Bernice who lives off of my tax dollars I pay into the system can take a trip and live a little while I struggle.

Vote me for president in the election of whenever because I’m tired of these prices and living this life like this when others don’t have to.

Why do I have to and Bernice don’t??

Tell me why!!!
