Honing My Craft
It has been six months since I joined an online platform for creatives and my writing life has changed so much for the better. Now I wake up ready to face the screen and begin to write. Some days I am challenged however never frightened and I always manage to put something on the page. This is my new and I pray daily high for the rest of my life. Since I started with the online platform, I have had two stories rejected. I must admit after I read them after the rejection, I saw all the flaws and I was just horrified that I submitted them. How could I think that mess would pass a review? Well, instead of quitting and sulking I started the rewrite of the stories and polished them up. It took two of my writing sessions (about two hours each in length) for me to see where I had gone off course with one of my stories and one writing session (again about two hours in length) for the other. After I course corrected, I resubmitted them and they both were accepted. I learned you cannot rush or lose your focus when you write a short story.

All Work and No Play Makes Jack a Dull Boy
Probably the most famous iteration of the saying “all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy” is that in Stanley Kubrick’s The Shining. The film features a writer with writer’s block who takes his family with him to an isolated hotel where he has taken a position as the off-season caretaker. He is working on a play but when we finally see the words he has typed, it is that phrase repeated over and over and over again. Jack descends into full madness as he attempts to murder his family.

50,000+ Reads on Vocal
I always wondered when it would happen. Then casually going over my stats, I felt my wrists shake in excitement. It finally happened! It's a milestone that I have always wanted to reach because it's hard for many content creators to get views. 50,000 is a significant number for me. It's the word count goal for most Nanowrimo projects and since then, it's become my target word count for most of my novels. I don't always reach this word count with the final product. In fact, I've published more short stories than novellas than longer works but I don't think readers care much about word count. They care more about what words we use and how we use them to express our ideas.

Your New Job Has 'Arrived', But What Are You Wearing To That Interview?
Your 2021 New Year Resolutions ought to have been accomplished by now, yet you came close to nothing or you had just a tad of it. Many people wrote down their resolutions and plans for the year, particularly those looking for a steady employment to get their future going, and so on. So many people, particularly graduates were expecting to see a change, but all with no outcome.

A Million Excuses
Abstract Procrastination is a form of self sabotage. I often find myself at an unexplained standstill that feels very negligent of the tasks I have before me. In my time spent in this productivity limbo, there seems to be an un-quantifiable amount of excuses one can come up with as “reasons” to not take the steps necessary to move forward. For the reader who finds themselves normally wrestling with anxiety at the idea of starting a new project or a new life chapter, this study is to help us. It is my intention in this study to rid us (you, the reader, and myself) of as many of the bullshit excuses as possible. In doing so, I plan to use my personal observations as a whole to also identify what it is that plagues and hinders my growth.

How Digital HR Transforms Future Work Culture
The future of work describes changes in how work will get done over the next decade, influenced by technological, generational, and social shifts. We’re reinventing the future of work every day and it’s time to be more intentional about it — whether employees are working at home, in-office or reimagined on-site locations, or a combination of the three. According to research by Gartner.com, over 75% of hybrid or remote workers say their expectations for working flexibly have increased, and 4 of 10 employees are at the risk of leaving if you insist they return to an in-person office environment. Around 39% of knowledge workers could leave if you insist on a 'hard return' to fully on-site work.

The Engagement
This is essentially for every Vocal Creator who is a member of a Facebook Vocal Group. Also I apologise if I seem too pushy or offensive , this is really just to make people aware of what needs to happen to make our wonderful groups succeed. This is not me telling you what to do, it is me telling you what I do and what I hope others will do more of.
