I'm Moving South with my Family
After having had the two biggest losses of my life in little more than 3 months, I believe that now is the time to turn a page, I am leaving the North and going south to experience new horizons and enjoy the time I still have left before God.

Local leave in Sydney & a big decision on the next contract!
There are so many aspects of life that you take for granted working a regular 9-5 job on land, compared to a work everyday 13-14 day for 6 month contract at sea. Having a full day off seems like a gift from the gods and as goods as ship food is (on certain ships at least!) you crave any meal thats not from a buffet or worse crew mess!

Absolute Freedom
I wholeheartedly reject the tyranny of the expected. I have typed these words before. I have said them to friends and colleagues. They have hung in the air and existed on the web for anyone to find. They are a mission statement for my life. These words define so much of who I am, but I remain a creature of routine. The world expects certain things from me, and, more often than not, I oblige.

They Thought I Lost My Mind...
It was December 2007, exactly 7 months after Andy left me and my life got turned upside down. My financial situation was slightly better than in the first couple of months, nonetheless far away from good. I was riddled with debts (especially after I took huge loan to buy a motorbike), struggled to survive, and had not much hope for a better future. I was devastated and I couldn't care less if I was alive or dead. So what do you do as a single lady with no money and nothing to lose? Yes, exactly, take the bike and go to the sunset. I decided to go to Tasmania. My family and friends declare me crazy and suggested that instead of riding the motorbike I should seek psychiatric help.

My last days on the Star Princess
And finally my 3rd contract and 3rd and 4th ships was down to its last day! My replacement Leandro was one of the original videogs hired at the start of the videographers days in Princess. From Argentina at this point in 2009 I think Leandro had been with the company at least 5 years at this point and he had his pick of assignments. After the Star I think I only ever saw Leandro scheduled on the Ocean & Pacific Princesse’s the companies two smallest ships and therefore most exotic itineraries.

A Frugal dream in Portugal 3
Thursday 25th June. Hey it’s Summer . Thank you for continuing to read this and keep up with the trials and tribulations of our frugal life . We've had some great luck ( that means some money!) and Ricks’ off to price up the tyres for the van, they are really expensive out here but hopefully within the next few days we'll get on the road again. It's been quite a while and my inflamed coccyx really protests at all the time spent on the back of the bike. I'm just learning to live with it and sitting 'differently' bending over weeding also puts pressure on but stopping that just isn't an option at the moment. The anti-inflammatories upset my stomach so it seems I'm stuck with ‘ dealing’ with it for the time being. Luckily I seem to have a reasonably moderate case as it's definitely uncomfortable but not the agonising pain I have heard some folk get with it.
