In an era of information overload and rapid judgments, it has become increasingly common for the world to believe it knows someone based on a few superficial aspects or limited interactions. The tendency to make assumptions and stereotype individuals has far-reaching consequences, often leading to misunderstandings, prejudice, and missed opportunities for growth and connection. Humans are wired to make snap judgments based on first impressions. It is a survival mechanism that allows us to quickly assess potential threats or opportunities in our environment. However, this ingrained tendency can also lead to hasty and inaccurate assumptions about others. When we form opinions based on fleeting encounters or limited information, we run the risk of overlooking the multifaceted nature of individuals and reducing them to simplistic stereotypes.
