The Sacrifice for Acting
Becoming an actor in this day and age is difficult. Not everyone will get it and perceive you as not thinking "practical." Who in their right mind wants to do it? I love a challenge and I tell myself, as long as I know I choose not to stop, I'll be fine. But what cost does it have on my lifestyle?

The Road to Becoming a Firefighter
If my friends and family know anything about me, it's that I am the type of person that does not take no for an answer. My entire life I have been told that I am not smart enough, strong enough, fast enough, even pretty enough to do the things that I have set my mind to and accomplished. I've been told I am too small, too cute, not assertive enough, etc. The funny thing is, I was previously Law Enforcement and, to be honest, most LEOs are Type A personality type of people. I have always been the person that speaks her mind, for the most part. I may not have been assertive in other aspects of my life, but when it came to my job, oh you damn well know I will speak my mind and say what I have to say.

Small Town Model in a Big City
I never thought I would've had the opportunity to model as a teen. As a teenage girl, I was obsessed with Tyra Banks' America's Next Top Model. I was always fantasizing about getting paid to wear such luxurious art pieces in exotic locations I can't even pronounce. Part of the reason why I never thought I was good enough to be a model, came from the opinions of other people. In elementary school, I grew up in the inner city school district. Girls would often tease me for my "proper accent" and my skin eczema. I even remember a boy tried to beat me up on the playground. It got so bad to the point where my mom had to take me out of the district. I spent a year going to school in Kansas. I had never felt so out of place before.

Perfect Careers for Empaths
Being an empath is different from merely having or expressing empathy. Empaths are attuned on such a level to other people’s feelings that they share physical and emotional responses with the people around them, be that happiness, pleasure, or pain. An empaths life can be overwhelming and exhausting at times, but also lends itself to great insight, compassion and understanding. As such, there are many career paths which suit empaths, and can have a major benefit for the wider community. Let’s look at a few perfect careers for empaths.

A Lyft Driver's Journal!
Hi, I'm Judy and today is my first day on my new job as a driver. Wait, why in the hell am I introducing myself? I'm so excited right now about the thought of having the ability to set my own hours, not to mention make as much money as I want just by downloading this one single app. Yes, of course I'm skeptical and nervous, with sweaty palms wondering about the unknown or shall I requote "the great unknowns."

No Day Is the Same...
I remember the days of the alarm going off at five AM. The feeling of do I have to and rolling over to grab my phone and snoozing it. Needing, wanting, craving, resisting the feeling to have to get up. Thinking do I need this job, do I have to go and deal with the same old stuff as always. Alarm goes off again, snoozing it again and staring at the ceiling, telling myself to get up because you have to. Finally rolling over, getting out of bed and immediately going to the kitchen to start coffee and proceeding to the bathroom to begin the "corporate face" process then continuing to the bedroom to complete my "corporate" look. Grabbing my coffee, purse, keys, my final thoughts, and out the door.

5 Reasons Actors Should Learn a New Language
1. It will help you do more realistic accents. Let's face it. An accent can make or break a film. A bad attempt at producing a British accent could make an actor sound more like they are a deaf speaker at best. The importance of nailing a proper accent is as true for English dialects as it is for foreign ones. You may be thinking, British accent, you say? Easy! Unless you only know Geordie and the script is set in London, where they speak Cockney. Global English speaking countries have varying accents just as numerous as those found in America and anyone familiar with those areas will not be convinced. Film critics may actually be offended by your poor attempt and see it more as mockery. Just as it would not be believable that I was born and raised in New York City if you heard hints of my Hillbilly twang coming through, it also would not be believable that someone had a Spanish background if they couldn't properly roll their "R's" or throw their voice from the back of their throat.
