Who am I?
When I first attempted this article, I was in my second year at university and as part of my course, I had to write an article/blog each week for my professional portfolio. At first, I was excited about the idea of doing this because I knew it would present me with a challenge and as well as this, I believed that I would see my writing style change over time and that I would be able to adapt to a bit of spice here and a bit of flare there. I thought that by the end of my second year, I would have a variety of professional articles to choose from, but the truth is... I may have wrote the bare minimum. I'm not saying this to shame myself or to tarnish my writing ability, far from it. I'm just saying this because now that I am in my third year of university, I do not want to accept how I left things in my first blog about myself. Therefore, I would like to take another shot at it.

Beginnings in I.T.
As the first post of this blog, I thought it would be a good idea to reflect on where/how I began my career. When talking to people who are new to the world of computers (and who are hoping to land a job), I like to share my story of how my career began. I don’t do this for bragging rights or to make them envious of me. Rather it’s so that they may find some inspiration in what I have to say and be able to see that anything is possible once you put your mind to it.

Direction in My Writing Life
Live your creative life like a dumpster fire caught in a tornado. -Steve B Howard That is the cover is the most recent book I’ve self published, a heavily fictionalized memoir titled The Nor. Cali Crash Stories. So far I’ve written 3 novels, 1 novella, 1 memoir, 6 short story collections 1 poetry collection, and 1 novelette. 13 books total. Around 310k words. I’ve probably written another 200k at least on Medium and with the screenplays I’ve co-written in the last two years or so. I’ve also written at least 50k words worth of stand up comedy, oneliners, jokes, bits, and chunks. And that’s just the stuff typed up. There’s at least another 500k or so in notebooks too. More than a million words since 1997. Not much compared to some writers, but still not bad either.

A Freelance Battlefield.
"I can do this. It's easy and there's nothing to stop me!" That's one of the many phrases I must have told myself over the countless months of research, fast hit jobs, and small successes I had encountered within my first month of working as a freelance agent. I had the confidence to match my desire for success but I didn't have the proper tools or resources to really see me succeed. I learned quickly that the world of freelance work is riddled with loopholes and dodgy communications. It's a lot like when you were a kid with a LEGO set. The box shows this big and achievable end-game but as kids; we just tear into everything without taking a moment to read the instructions or rules that come with it and therefore being left frustrated and angry at the entire process.
