Change is not inevitable
I've recently been inspired by a friend of mine to evaluate my life and make changes. Change is something I fear. I'm a creature of habit and feel safe in the spaces I've created for myself. But these spaces are in fact, not safe. The routines and customs I have in my life are keeping me afloat however I'm not propelling. I've let myself go; my weight, my mind, my creativity, my spark and I want it all back. I want to thrive and not merely be stagnant for the rest of my life.

Should You Quit Your Job If It Makes You Unhappy, But Pays Well?

Literate Leadership
As I prepared to share what I believe are some critical insights on what I call, "literate leadership" I thought about the varied approaches I could take. At the time of this writing I am 42 years old and I have spent the better part of my adult life in leadership. In my early 20s I started my first business and alongside my then husband I ran a small residential construction company. It was extremely successful for several years and eventually the growth led to a merger with another company. I'm proud to say it continues to this day although I'm no longer involved.

Nothing beats a shift in attitude
I don't want to come out and say what has changed me. It is deep and personal and almost irrelevant because it was not just one specific event but a build-up over time of thoughts and feelings. It changed me massively in a way that is not necessarily so plain to see. I mean I still have the same passion for music that I did before and outside of expanding to new hobbies I haven't changed too much or have I? One certainty with people is that like of the seasons they will change. Everyone does all the time. So just like all things, I have changed and although we could look back to a specific date it's still been forward and backwards. Sometimes habits just die hard. It's not something I should chastize myself for. After all sometimes to move forward we have to take a few steps back. These are three key points I have learned and embraced.
