Shawn Dall Art - My Artistic Dream, Illuminated

So I have a dream, a dream to show my art to the world, big, vibrant, complex! I like to make complex pieces, that are brightly illuminated, and are fantastical, cosmic, "surreal"...

I want to be seen on billboards, on the sides of buildings, in foyers of corporate offices and in hotel lobbies. My work pixellated and lit for all to see on giant screens, it is a faraway goal, and maybe it will never happen, but it is a goal nonetheless. You can see one of my pieces above.

I even made a video of what that might look like.

So last month the site that I submit my music to—fineartamerica/pixels.com had a contest to have ones work displayed on billboards—you can read about it here.

We had to go about and promote our links to literally everyone we knew to qualify for consideration—the qualification being you needed 250 votes on each piece. Unfortunately the voting was bit buggy and many people thought they could only vote on one piece—so between the voting not working for a lot of people and the misinterpretation it took a LOT longer to get the votes—almost the entire month, but qualify I did!

I did them in two variations—black and natural wood—I tend to like the natural wood look better. :)

It was pretty cool, but a huge pain to lug them all around. Still though they looked much better lit then unlit—you got to see much more dimension than them—so I would love to do something giant in that way.

The experimentation continues! You can see all my work below—I may never reach my goal, but it is the journey that is important! Also feel free to buy any of my stuff.

Be sure to check out my "Elements of Harmony" series and my "Cosmic" "Space" and "Collage" series, in which I make giant pieces out of pixellations of my work where each group of three by three pixels in the overall collage contains a colourized version of one of my other works of that colour! Those are my most popular! I do a bit of everything—from tattoo inkwork to painting to sculpture to sketching to anime to photography! I do fantasy elements as well like fae creatures, dragons, mythological creatures etc!
