My e-commerce story - Part 1 - Introduction

E-commerce, what is that? Is it only online shopping on eBay or Amazon? Or are there more things at play? E-commerce stands for 'Electronic Commerce' or in simpler words: buying and selling through the internet. In a large thread of posts I will explain to you not only what e-commerce is, but how you can use some parts of it to your advantage in terms of making money.

Instead of all those courses which tend to cost A LOT of money, this is absolutely free. I think everyone should have free access to the methods other people use to make money on the web. Be warned though, I can't guarantee that it will work out the same way for you as it did for me. I am not promising mountains of money and fame, I'll just share my advice, experiences and tips along the way. Besides that, I will also tell about the things that you have to avoid during your travels.

Are you ready? Lets begin by introducting myself. This also means that my English can contain mistakes, I'm sorry about that ;). Currently I am studying Business Economics at the University of Groningen. As a young boy, money was always of big interest to me. I always tried to find ways to make even the smallest amount of cash. This started with something every kid will do in their life: chores. But not the chores at home like doing the dishes, I'm talking about washing cars for neighbours or mowing their lawn. Eventually this habit of making money grew bigger by selling products at a profit via a platform called Marktplaats, which is basically the Dutch eBay. Eventually, after many years, I came to the point where I am today. Full of knowledge, experience and expertise in making money.

When I did manage to make money by trading or doing small chores, it made me insanely happy. That was because I had done something (that I liked) and got a monetary reward in return. In my opinion its this mindset, which came to me at a young age, that led to me being the person I am today. It made me not only understand the concept of money, but respect it as well.

I will talk about what money actually is in a different post, where I will teach you how to harness the power and responsibillity that comes with it. Because money is not just something to buy stuff with, it can be manipulated and used in your advantage. But underestimate it, and it can destroy you.

On top of my explanation about money and its powers, I will also talk about other useful sources of information that have helped me a lot. Think about things like certain books and courses. Here I am gonna give detailed explanations about the pros and cons, points of interest and potential benefits of each.

To top it all off, I will share with you my experiences with selling across multiple platforms. Here I will answer questions like: What is the best way to sell products? How do I make a profit? Are there selling methods more profitable than others? How do I gain more sales? After every post you will have learnt something new and useful, which brings joy to me as well.
