Medium Review | Is it the Best Platform to be Writing For?

There has been a lot of debate over which writing platform is the best; Vocal or Medium? It’s kind of such like apples and oranges, only for indie pens. And I have seen it go both ways in my Facebook groups.

But I am not going to say which one is better. This is me telling you about Medium and my trip with the platform.

Why I Went on Medium

I first started writing on the platform in April of 2022. Well, I heard of the platform while I was using Vocal another great writing platform.

I wanted further people to read my stories, and I heard about Medium( I do not indeed flash back how presently), so I figured, why the hell not? And I sign up for the free interpretation.

But I did not put too important study or care into it. And not for quite a while. I was concentrated on getting a better pen on Vocal and viewed Medium as simply an extension.

Plus, it focuses more on particular stories and papers rather than fabrication, which I did not watch for at the time.

But also I decided to come a paying member on the platform so I could read further than three stories a month.

Slightly, I got more into it, when I started with the platform it already been decided to limit payment to only those who had 100 or further followers, I busted my burro to meet the demand.

And guess what?

I did it! to be honest it wasn’t easy but I did it in less then two weeks So now I’ve over 260 followers and growing on Medium, and at least two person on my dispatch list, My next target is to reach 1000 if you love my writing i hope you help me reach my goal.

The Different Features of Medium

Then are some of the cool features of the platform.

Instant Publishing You can publish your work on Medium as soon as you are ready, without having to stay for approval from moderators.

Reads = Money Another platform to earn on. Some say they have earned hundreds or indeed a thousand dollars a month. But you have to be in the Partner Program.

Tags You can give your stories five tags to describe the content. And you can come up with your own if none of them work for you.

Followers Like any other Social Media, people can follow you and vice versa.

Likes/ commentary You can do both for Medium stories on the platform.

Importing Links You can import story links from other websites to publish them on Medium.

Email List Yes, people are suitable to sign up, so they get your stories posted to them as soon as they appear without having to do the redundant work, as well as import people onto your Medium email list.

Referral Links You can produce your own link for people to subscribe up with to get some of the money that people pay when they get a class, which is no redundant cost for them.

Publications You can either submit to publications to gain further reads and exposure or produce your own.

Profile Design You’re suitable to play around with how your homepage looks fairly fluently.

Social Media Connecting and participating If you have Facebook and/ or Twitter, you can link your Medium runner to moreover. And you can partake on further platforms, similar as LinkedIn.

The App It makes it so much easier to read stories, and I believe it’s available on apple, android, and desktop.

There are presumably more, but those are the main bones And I love them.

What Changes Would I Make to Medium?

That is a tough question. But I suppose I’ve a many ideas.

1. I’d like there to be further challenges sprinkled throughout the time on Medium, and for them to be more accessible and creative.
2. Another great point would be comity with editing software extensions like Grammarly or Pro Writing Aid. Because no story should be riddled with grammatical issues.
3. It would also be fantastic if you could import documents from places like Word or Google. And be suitable to move paragraphs and headlines over and down without having to copy, bury, and cancel.

Was Medium a Good Decision for Me?

For me, although it took time to make the provocation and instigation to concentrate on the platform, yes, it was.

It’s helping me take my writing more seriously, with me creating two publications and an dispatch list, as well as expressing my particular journeys and opinions.

Plus, because it has an app, I am suitable to consume content daily and gain alleviation.

Is Medium Right for You?

Well, that depends on your writing pretensions. still, or if you prefer writing fabrication, also I would suggest at least starting with Vocal, If you are just starting to write online. You’re more suitable to discover your online presence and writing voice without all the pressure.
