March 16, 2018, was a day that seemed ordinary at first. The sun shone brightly in the sky, casting its warm rays upon the earth below. But for me, it was a day I wished had never existed.
As a teenager, I faced my fair share of struggles and traumas. High school hadn't been easy for me, and I carried the weight of past regrets and pain on my shoulders. Little did I know that the decision I would make that day would shape my life in ways I couldn't imagine.
It was on March 16, 2018, that I said yes to a proposal from a boy I thought I loved. In my youthful naivety, I believed it was the right choice, but it would soon unravel into a series of events that would shatter my happiness.
"If only March 16, 2018, had never happened," I often thought, replaying the events of that day in my mind. As I looked back on that fateful day, tears welled up in my eyes. If only I could erase it from existence.
But life had a funny way of working out. Fast forward to March 16, 2024, and I found myself in a completely different place. No longer a teenager, but a young woman who cherishes every moment of my life, including the painful ones.
On this day, I didn't mourn the past; instead, I celebrated the present. For it was on this day, four years ago, that I met him—the one who would change everything.
With him, I found solace and healing. I found the strength to piece myself back together, one shard at a time. He became my rock, my guiding light through the darkest of times.
As I looked into his eyes, I felt an overwhelming sense of gratitude wash over me. Gratitude for his unwavering love and support. Gratitude for his patience and understanding. Gratitude for simply being him.
"I lost everything on March 16, 2018," I whispered, my voice trembling with emotion. "But I found everything in you on March 16, 2020."
He pulled me close, wrapping his arms around me protectively. "And I found everything in you too," he murmured against my hair.
With him by my side, I no longer feared the memories of the past. Instead, I embraced them, knowing that they had led me to him. And as we stood there, entwined in each other's arms, I realized that March 16 would forever be the best day of the year—not because of what I had lost, but because of what I had found.
March 16, no longer a day to rue,
But a symphony of love, forever true.
As a token of love on our anniversary, this is to my Man.
Dear Love of my Life,
When I reflect on the journey we've shared since that day in 2020, I'm filled with an overwhelming sense of gratitude and awe. You, my love, have been the beacon of light that guided me through the darkest of times. You've shown me that love is not just a fairytale but a reality that exists in the warmth of your embrace and the tenderness of your words.
As we celebrate our anniversary, I want you to know just how grateful I am to have you by my side. You are not just my partner; you are my everything. Thank you for loving me when I couldn't love myself and for believing in me when I had lost all hope.
On this March 16th, and every day that follows, I will hold onto the memories we've created together and the love that binds us. You've turned this once-dreaded date into the best day of the year, and for that, I will be eternally grateful.
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY BUU. I Love You❤️
With love,
Wifey
