I wanted to tell you all about the past 2 days. So much has happened and I'm not sure I remember it all, but I will try. I woke up feeling a lot better than I had before, having a sale really boosted my confidence. It was the last day of November so I finished the weekend game. Only a few people had played so it was not hard to determine the winner. I worked on Finishing the set I was giving away for the month of November. I had stayed up late finishing it but I just had to sew in my end strings. Then I went to the post office to send out the items someone had purchased the day before. Then I went home to teach school.
What you don't know about me yet is that, when I'm not working on items to sell, I am helping to raise an 8 yr old girl. I have been the mother figure to my niece since she was 3. Due to a tragic history of multiple forms of abuse, my niece only gets supervised visits with her mom. My brother knew that he couldn't raise her by himself so we all stepped in to help. I have spent the last 5 years watching her turn into this smart and beautiful girl. She is currently home schooled and I am the one who teaches her. So I spend a couple hours most days teaching her on different subjects.
After schooling, I did my last live for the online craft fair. My sister was there with me, like she had been for all the lives. I showed off the new set and talked about a lot of different things. It was my shortest live all week. I went out for dinner and while we were at they restaurant I saw that I had a new email from Etsy. Someone had purchased several items! I was so happy! Finally my luck was starting to turn around.
Now we come to yesterday. I woke up around 8am and got ready for the day. I took a long time to get the new order packaged up because I wanted to make sure I didn't forget anything. I even remembered to throw in a few business cards so they could pass them out to a couple friends. Finally I left the house and ran errands, post office, bank, food shopping, the usual. I started feeling down again but I reminded myself that I just need to stay positive! Things are turning around and I just have to keep going and not give up! I went home and had lunch. I decided to make some finger less gloves because its winter and I only have one set left on my shop.
I then went back out with my sister because she had errands. I have spent a lot of time with her over the past week and its not always like that so I enjoy any time I get to spend with her. I posted on my Facebook about doing a live to announce the winner of my November give away. I also decorated my tree. It came out really beautiful and I am really proud of it! Christmas is my second favorite holiday and I always love making the house look cheery and festive!
On my live I picked the winner of the set . It came out really nice and I posted the pictures to Facebook, hoping people might want to order a set for themselves. This did get one custom order for hat and mittens. So I guess I made a sale yesterday too! The winner finally got back to me after a few hours and informed me that she didn't want the set. That she had no need for free things. I thought this was weird but with as many scams that are going around Facebook right now, I wasn't too surprised. I asked her if she wanted to be removed from all future drawings and she said yes. She only had one entry and it was because she had liked my Facebook page. I drew a second winner and they did want the set. I cant wait to send it to them, I really hope they like it!
