The Craft of Fiction
Fiction is made up of many elements, each element as important as the last. The plot structure is one such need to be fulfilled in the story. Short story writing is something I want to try my hand in again because I have ideas that need to go somewhere. My novella, “A Return To Honor,” took 23 long years to write since 1996 when I structured the outline and put it away since I was perpetually stuck. I sent it to Tor.com where I’m 160 in the queue, having no idea if they will see it or not. I do not want to send simultaneous submissions here.

You're a Writer? Read This
I'm currently sitting at my table, staring at my empty mug of coffee and wishing it was full, randomly typing this out because I currently feel the need to write yet do not have a distinct idea of what to write about. And yet, I feel that this may possibly be what some other writer out there needs to hear. Sometimes, as a writer, we feel inferior to other writers because we don't always see into their writing process. We can often think, their words flow easier than mine, or, inspiration seems to just radiate from them, and then wonder why it's not happening with us. So, as I'm currently writing this, I've decided to prove to you that not all inspiration comes in huge waves, and it is possible to find it through simple forms; even if it's entirely unexpected, and hopefully you can gain a little encouragement.

Female in a Male Prison
I'm in my first year as a counselor. It's difficult to go to work every day knowing I am an attractive woman putting myself in a position to be seen by men who are especially prone to lust. Men who are part of a population that tend to have low moral standards. What I have found, though, is a subculture in this other world. A small population that have the most intuitive and dedicated moral structure that is a blessing to witness being built. Here, in this world of men, I find myself torn between who I used to be and who I want to be.

If Money Were No Object
If money were no object I would be able to create and bring to life so many dreams I have had locked away in this mind of mine. Dreams some would say are too big for a person like myself, but if you are going to dream, dream big and dream often.

Born to Lead
I was born in Kenya in Mombasa and ever since I could remember I lived with my grandma, BiSaida, a beautiful petite lady with a great smile and charisma and my grandpa, babuSaid a safari guide. Most of the time he was away because of his job, but when he returned he brought bush meat, from what could have been any animal. They were great times.
