Jobs Suck And Most Of Us Hate Our Jobs

Most of the time, our jobs are an alienation portal endured only because we need the money

Sometimes I think of getting a job. You know, the stable income and something to force me to dress up, go out, see people… As an extrovert, I like those things. But then I remember the viper-filled office environment and how a boss never sees us as humans.

That photo of a high-five with smiles? Total bullshit! That is not a realistic work environment, but that's what society shoves down our throats to trick us into the workforce -like we had an option…

Corporate And College Life Are Not Dreams, Just Nightmares

Corporate wants us to think having a career in a company is amazing! They want us to believe the hundreds of thousands spent in college are justifiable because of these "great jobs" we will get.

But, honestly, how many people do you know who love their jobs? People love the work, sometimes (just sometimes), but the actual job environment kills even their passion for their work and trade.

I know 2 people who say they actually like their job/company/workplace. Just 2.

This One Lady On Facebook That Hates Her Job…

This week I posted on a North NJ women-only group that I'd like to meet other local business owners, to go out, hang out, and talk business.

Lord in heaven! This one lady jumped in to bash my post. Her reasons were understandable:

"I work Monday to Friday, 9 to 5. When I go out with the girls, I want to talk about anything but my work!"

And she went on ranting… I laughed it off. She does seem like a nice lady. The usual:

  • Has 2 kid
  • Divorce
  • Works 9 to 5 daily
  • Clearly hates her accountant job but has bills to pay.

At least 5 or 6 women replied immediately that they were interested. This lady jumped around almost every comment, nearly calling us crazy.

She could have ignored it, right? I mean, she is not a business owner. But do you know what moved her passionate behavior in calling us crazy?

The fact she HATES her job

She didn't say that. But did she have to? Nope.

As I told her, business owners don't get together to talk about "our work". We talk BUSINESS. It's insanely different. Especially because our actual work is 15% to 20% of what we do daily. Yeah, welcome to the glorified entrepreneur life!

Most small business owners are "solopreneurs". This means we mostly work alone, all day, every day, from home. Plus all the daily chores of regular life, house, and family. So, where 9–5ers want to disconnect from work stuff, "solopreneurs" want to connect with people just as much.

But, in all honesty, someone who only worked 9 to 5 all their lives would never understand. And it's not their fault! They fell from high school or college to a job that stresses the fuck out of them daily, disconnects them from their true persona and identity, but is a necessary evil to pay their bills. So they hate it. With reason! And they think every job and work is just the same -as an employee, they are correct.

Recently there was a get-together with the group. I couldn't make it and updated them I would have to stay home to work late. That same lady made fun of it, teasing the fact I work for myself and should have more freedom. People who are miserable love to make fun of others because they hate their lives... I feel bad for her.

My heart goes out to you if you hold a 9 to 5. And it is not any easier to run our own small business, really. Most of us don't even break even… Welcome to Capitalism!, where only Ellon Musks are the true winners.
