Standing up is much easier when the seat is five centimeters higher: The Starck 3 wall-mounted toilet offers this convenience. Ideal for refurbishments, as it uses existing connections. Sufficient room to maneuver in front of the toilet ensures safe and easy mobility, even if there’s a later need for additional supports in the bathroom for seniors. Handrails installed subsequently can provide even more security; paper holders and flush activators, positioned with foresight, improve usability.

The projection is 700 mm in each case and conforms to current DIN standards. As a transfer device for an accessible toilet, firmly anchored, folding support rails with integrated paper holder are recommended. A back support can also offer additional support in the case of falls.

Easy access and safe showering

Level-access shower area

A bathroom with a level-access shower isn’t just the perfect solution optically. It’s also easy to clean, offers a safer environment and helps prevent slipping or falls. Shower trays which measure 120 x 120 cm fulfil the DIN 18025/I + II and 18040-2E criteria for accessible showers and ensure a sufficiently large shower area and room for maneuvering – with extra space in case an assistance person is needed.

Two models in varying materials are suited to planning with foresight: The Stonetto shower tray, made from DuraSolid Q, with excellent optic and haptic qualities, and the new Tempano series of shower trays made from sanitary acrylic. Whether they’re flush-fitting, floor-mounted or semi-recessed, they’re suited to the most varied structural settings and individual preferences. A shower seat or grab handle in the shower area can increase the safety and comfort levels.

The combined walk-In shower and bathtub provided in the EOOS Shower + Bath offers maximum comfort for small spaces. Thanks to the integrated glass door, the bathtub can be turned quickly and easily into an open, age-appropriate shower with easy access. If the door to the bathtub is opened, it disappears under a waterproof seat cushion and can’t be seen. The pillow, which keeps its shape, lies on top of the integrated door, as well as on the tub rim, and offers a comfortable seating and additional surface area option. Shower + Bath makes it possible for people with limited mobility or a disability to also enjoy a relaxing bath.

Clever bath concepts for increased safety

It’s not just in accessible bathrooms that safety plays a key role. People of all ages benefit from the practical additional functions for increased comfort in the bathroom. When it’s dark, a special supplementary LED nightlight ensures adequate light to navigate by, without interrupting the body’s resting state. Several of the mirror cabinet models, as well as the SensoWash® shower toilet, are fitted with these.
