How to Make Money Sharing Other People’s Content
No, it's not stealing
I love watching YouTube videos and reading blogs in my spare time, but about three years ago, I discovered that I spent more time consuming content, and less time creating it. So, I made a decision, I wanted to find a way to make money from my content consumption habit.
It hit me when I watched a video by a millionaire creator, Andrew Kirby. This guy went from broke to earning millions as a content “synthesizer.”
“What the hell is a content synthesizer?” I hear you say.
Well, to put in simple terms, a content synthesizer is someone who consumes content, simplifies it, and shares it with their audience.
For example, if you love watching TikTok videos about personal development, but you don’t want to spend all your time searching for new TikTok accounts, a content curator or synthesizer might create a list of the best TikTok accounts for personal growth, and all you have to do is follow this curator and they’ll provide all the information you need about TikTok creators.
Or, say you want to learn about philosophy, but you can’t be bothered to spend hours researching it, someone might create a condensed piece of content about specific philosophical thoughts and ideas based on a larger, more complex piece of content. For example, a lecture that’s already available online, or a detailed book.
Some examples of content synthesization are:
- Book summaries
- Curated lists of creators, bloggers, or artists
Here’s how I make money from content curation:
Create articles for my niche blogs for example:
- 10 Black creators to follow on Instagram in 2025
- Awakened Imagination by Neville Goddard: A Book Summary
- These are my favourite Manifestation YouTube channels to watch right now
- Shift your mindset with these personal growth blogs
I earn money in several ways:
- Affiliate marketing
- Digital products
- Adverts
Posting on platforms such as Vocal Media, YouTube, Pinterest, and Instagram
When I post articles on Vocal, I earn from the partner program, which isn’t that lucrative in my opinion, but I also add affiliate links and digital product links from time to time.
Sharing on YouTube is by far the most lucrative option for content curation however, I don’t rely on the YouTube Partner Program where you must receive 4000 hours of watch time, and 1000 subscribers before you can start earning. I share affiliate links, digital product links, and Print on Demand product links from day one.
My process
I spend an hour a day consuming content on several platforms. Some days, I focus on YouTube, on other days, watch TikTok videos, Instagram Reels, or I scroll through Pinterest. Let me tell you, Pinterest is an absolute goldmine! I’m not playing here, if you want to 10x your income, you must get on Pinterest to create, and curate content.
I use Pinterest as an ideation tool, as there are many content curation ideas on there. I also share all my YouTube videos and articles on Pinterest. I also share Pinterest accounts on YouTube, Vocal, my blogs, and Instagram.
Why I Love Content Curation
1. The Joy of Discovery
Finding hidden gems and valuable insights in a sea of information
Staying ahead of trends and industry developments
The excitement of uncovering fresh, unique content
2. Adding My Own Spin
Providing context and commentary to enhance the content’s value
Organizing information in a way that makes it more accessible and useful
Connecting the dots between different pieces of content to tell a bigger story
3. Delivering Value to My Audience
Helping people save time by filtering out noise and sharing only the best content
Educating and inspiring others through curated resources
Building trust and authority by consistently sharing high-quality, relevant information
4. Efficiency & Scalability
Creating impactful content without always starting from scratch
Repurposing and remixing content to maximize its reach
Leveraging automation tools while still adding a personal touch
5. Monetization & Business Growth
Curated content as a powerful tool for engagement and audience growth
Driving traffic to my platforms through high-quality recommendations
Monetizing curated content through affiliate marketing, newsletters, or premium resources
6. Endless Creativity
Mixing and matching content to create something unique
Exploring different formats—newsletters, social media posts, videos, and more
Experimenting with storytelling techniques to make curated content compelling
At the end of the day, content curation isn’t just a way to make money—it’s a skill that turns your time spent consuming content into something valuable. Instead of endlessly scrolling, you can organize, simplify, and share what you’ve learned in a way that helps others.
Whether you’re curating lists, summarizing books, or breaking down complex ideas, there’s a huge audience looking for exactly what you’re offering. And the best part? You don’t need to be an expert. You just need to be curious, consistent, and willing to share.
So if you’re already spending hours on YouTube, TikTok, or Pinterest, why not turn that habit into an income stream? The opportunities are endless—you just have to start.
⭐Bonus:
Here’s a bonus for you, I just thought about this because I’m about to do a series on one of my blogs where I recreate recipes from YouTube.
Once I’m done with that series, I’ll move on to a TikTok recipe series, and I’ll make a video for each recipe as well. I’ll post on YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram. If you like watching recipe videos, why not recreate the recipe instead of spending all your time consuming without getting anything out of it. You can also do the same with fashion, makeup or hair styling.
