How to Earn more Money on Vocal Media
Strategy comes into play here
As a contentpreneur and software engineer,I’m always searching for fresh ways to increase my income streams. One way is to write and publish content on Vocal Media. The truth is, most writers won’t make more than a few cents per month on Vocal however, it is possible to earn more if you make a conscious effort to do so.
Here, I want to show you how to boost your earnings on Vocal using several income boosting methods.
So, let’s go!
Create search friendly content
Vocal will pay you for external views therefore, you will earn when people find your content through search engines. So, instead of haphazardly posting on Vocal, do some search engine research, and find out what people are searching for.
You don’t have to spend thousands on SEO tools to do this, use Answer the Public to find questions that people ask about specific topics, it’s a free platform however, they do have a paid option. Utilize Google’s “People also search for” feature which provides a list of questions that people ask and search for on Google.

Another thing you can try is to engage heavily in Facebook groups to understand what people want to learn.
These are free options however, the paid tools will provide more detailed insights to find low competition, high search volume search terms. I use Ubersuggest and Ahrefs mostly, however, I’ve also used Zutriz and Semrush in the past.

Interview public figures
This might sound a bit far-fetched and over the top, but I’m telling you, it’s a great idea because public figures might share your article on their social media platforms, and this will drive more traffic to your page.
You don’t have to interview public figures if you don’t have the time, however, you can write about them.
For example, you could do a series about well-known authors. Or one about famous artists, there’s lots of scope here, but in the long-run, you’ll gain more traction by creating content about popular figures in society because you’ll benefit from the “piggyback effect.”
The piggyback effect is when you leverage the popularity of a trend, individual, group, or organisation to increase traffic to your content.
Add some shock value
One writer who does this well is Criminal Matters here on Vocal. This writer focuses on publishing shocking true crime stories, and these stories are so chilling that you’ll want to read and share. So, find some shocking stories online, and tell the story differently by adding your own perspective.
Here are some examples of shocking story titles:
"We Found the Hidden Room in a Abandoned Mansion – What We Discovered Will Shock You"
"Scientists Predict Humans Will Be Immortal by 2050 – Here’s How They Plan to Do It"
"This Celebrity's Dark Past Will Leave You Speechless – You Won't Believe What They Were Hiding?
"World’s Most Dangerous Animal Discovered in Your Backyard – What You Need to Know"
"The Town Where Time Stands Still – Why No One Wants to Leave"
"The Shocking Truth About the Food You’ve Been Eating for Years (And It’s Not What You Think)"
"How One Man Stole Over $100 Million by Creating Fake Cures for Diseases"
Engage Thoughtfully
Engaging thoughtfully on Vocal means actively participating in conversations, offering meaningful comments, and connecting with other creators in a genuine way.
Instead of just promoting your own work, take the time to respond to others’ content, share insightful feedback, and build a network based on mutual support.
This not only helps you stand out but also creates a positive reputation within the community, making people more likely to support your content. Thoughtful engagement fosters relationships, increases visibility, and can lead to collaborations or followers, all of which are crucial for growing your income on the platform.
Share your stories
Don’t post and forget about your stories, that’s a huge mistake that many writers make. Instead, share your stories on other platforms such as:
- Many stories
- Newsletter
- Your own blog
- Embed your stories into your articles
Create a YouTube Channel
This is a no brainer in my opinion, if you’re not on YouTube, you’re missing a trick. Instead of posting an article on Vocal and leaving it there, repurpose your article as a video and post it on YouTube.
Remember: always make sure you paste the link of your original article in the YouTube description. That way, if people want to read your article, they can click your link, and you get paid.
Another thing that you must bear in mind, you will not get monetized on YouTube through the partner program straight away. You must get 4000 hours of watch time and 1000 subscribers before you can apply for monetization. I wouldn’t let that stop you though, because you can start earning by sharing affiliate links, digital products, and more.
Affiliate links and brand deals
Sign up for affiliate programs and share your links in relevant articles. Please understand that there’s no point posting random links here and there. You must try the product first, like it, then share it with your audience. Never share products for the sake of making money, it might come back to bite you in the future.
I’ve made some decent money from brand deals, and I would definitely recommend it. I’ve had companies reach out to me in the past for brand deals for Medium and YouTube, and you can easily do this for Vocal too.
A brand deal is where a company will ask you to create content about their product and share the link to build brand awareness. Sometimes, you don’t have to write a whole article about a brand, but you might have to find a way to incorporate the brand into the article.
For example, if you write about juicing, and a juicer company pays you for a series of sponsored posts, you could write an article about a specific juice, or the benefits of juicing, and recommend your sponsor’s juicer somewhere in the article.
Digital products
This is one of my favourite ways to monetize content. You can start your digital product business with zero capital, yes, zero capital, and make millions if you do it the right way. For digital products, I would recommend niching down completely to focus on a very specific audience though, because it’s much easier to sell products when you attract the people who are more likely to buy an e-book about a certain topic.
For example, if you create content for single moms, and you write an ebook for single moms, you’ll get more sales because you’re articles attract single moms or people who might know a single mom.
If you haven’t started selling digital products, I’d highly recommend it. It’s free to start by using platforms such as Gumroad and Payhip. Create your digital products on Canva, it’s free, although I’d recommend the paid version when you start making more money.
Freelance writing services
Finally, if you’re a freelance writer, don’t waste the opportunity to get more clients by using your Vocal articles as a showcase for your prospective clients. Also, include your email information in your bio to make it easier for new clients to contact you.
In conclusion, making more money on Vocal Media is all about being strategic, creative, and consistent. By following the tips outlined—whether it's creating search-friendly content, engaging thoughtfully with the community, or diversifying your income streams with affiliate links, digital products, or brand deals—you can build a sustainable income while also growing your personal brand.
The key is to leverage the platform's potential in multiple ways, stay authentic, and stay engaged. With persistence and a smart approach, Vocal can become a valuable part of your contentpreneur journey. So, get started today, experiment with different strategies, and watch your earnings grow!
