Social commerce is one of the most significant prospects right now, and it's taking the world by storm. This market was worth $89.6 billion in 2020.

Simply defined, it's similar to e-commerce; however, instead of selling your things in your store, you sell them on your social network account.

Social commerce is possible on the most popular sites, such as Instagram, Pinterest, and Facebook. TikTok is also getting into the act. Most e-commerce systems also feature social media APIs, allowing you to track the success of Shopify, Squarespace, Shoplazza, and many other platforms in the background.

Benefits of Social Commerce

You may believe you don't need it because you already have a lovely online store. So why should I bother?

Even if your store converts well, you're missing out on a lot of the benefits that social commerce has to offer. Here are three examples:

Two Birds in One Stone: If you’re trying to build an audience on any social media channel, you know how hard it is to create new content. You will not only develop fresh content using Social Commerce, but you may also increase your sales.

Convert Inside Social Media: This is advantageous for two reasons. For starters, it reduces the friction of someone purchasing from you. Second, social media platforms adore this strategy. That implies their audience will spend more time on the platform, which equals more revenues.

Reach Out to More Customers: Social media is an excellent technique for increasing brand exposure. According to McKinsey & Company, social media is where 50% of customers discover about new companies! So, why not include your items in the feeds of your prospective buyers?

Grow Business with Social Commerce

Tip #1: Make Good Content

It’s not enough to take a product photo from your store, create a sales pitch, and call it a day.

That’s because social media isn’t an online store!

Nobody opens Instagram to shop. Instead, they go there to check out how their friends and favorite influencers are doing. So what should you do differently?

The answer is to create unique content:

  • Make it look like a social media post;
  • Engage with your audience by asking questions;
  • Reply to comments.

Your goal isn't to turn strangers into customers. Instead, concentrate on piquing their interest in purchasing from you. Those who want it will hit the buy button once you've done that!

Tip #2: Use a Message Bot

Message bots are extremely powerful! They are your 24/7 customer service and salespeople. You could program them to accomplish a variety of tasks! These are some examples:

  • Product Recommendations: It might be difficult for some people to select the best product for them. Rather than losing a prospective consumer, you could utilize your Messenger bot to propose things based on a series of inquiries.
  • Build FAQs: Instead of wasting time answering the same questions over and over again, you could let your Messenger bot take care of it. You can program your bot to respond when a message mentions a term with the right software.

There is a lot of software available for this, but I highly recommend Manychat. They have made it extremely easy to create your own bot; no coding is required.

Tip #3: Post User Generated Content

Having your customers post pictures and videos of your products is fantastic. Not only will you get more exposure and solve your content problem, but it will also help build trust with your audience.

The more your audience believes in you, the more sales you'll make. All you have to do to collect as much user-generated material as possible is to ask for it.

You can mention it in your bio, in the order confirmation email, and, if you have the budget, on a flyer that comes with the order. Then offer your consumers something in exchange for taking a photo with your goods, such as a voucher or just some visibility on their social network profile.

Tip #4 - Keep on Testing

Finally, I want to encourage you to never give up on social commerce! That's because, even if your first few attempts don't work out, they may still be quite profitable. All you have to do is experiment with various social commerce postings.

Remember that each market is different and will convert better on a particular post. So keep experimenting with different shopping features and content types until you find a winner. Then you can duplicate it, and the sales will come pouring in.
