Hamlet/Horatio: The Story Of Hamlet Told Through The Eyes Of Horatio
Vocal Movie Spotlight

Hamlet/Horatio is the retelling of the classic Shakespeare tale which celebrates the power of love to transend corruption and evil driven by Horatio's mission to keep Hamlet's spirit alive even after death. Writer David Vando worked with Wenzel, the producer, on several off-Broadway shows in which the latter played Hamlet. They re-worked the script to make it a version for all audiences that do not need a Shakespeare background to understand the film and story.
What do you want audiences to take from the movie?
David Wenzel: It is my hope that all audiences will gain a better understanding of Shakespeare and see the relevance of Shakespeare's work in today's society!
What inspired you to get into the film industry?
David Wenzel: I started off as a model back in the '90s under the guidance of Emmy Award Winner K-Bobby Edgar and had been traveling back and forth from Springfield, Ma. to NYC for a couple of years and fell in the love with the Theatre, after meeting David Vando who encouraged me to move to NYC which I did and then got into an Acting Conservatory called the NY Performance works to study Acting.
What do you enjoy most about the work that you do?
David Wenzel: The love of telling stories and watching them come to life, from concept to fruition.
What has been some feedback so far from those who have watched the film?
David Wenzel: One online reviewer wrote about "Hamlet/Horatio": This film is suspenseful, exciting, and creative. It kept me on the edge of my seat, and the talented actors really captivated me.
What are some memorable behind the scene production moments?
David Wenzel: For me, it was watching a project that David Vando and I worked on for 20 years and watching it come to life right before our eyes. Watching the actors day to day coming to work bringing their passion and love to help see the film come alive!
Why do you think it's vital for everyone to watch the film?
David Wenzel: It removes the stigma that Shakespeare is hard to understand. We wanted to make a film that could be understood and enjoyed by all audiences. The film very much focuses on a spiritual connection from this world to the next.
For those who are just becoming familiar with your work what would you like to say to them?
David Wenzel: Follow your dreams and do not wait for other people to give you permission. Know that you are going to fail over and over until you succeed and it is that crucial time that allows you to grow, learn and succeed! Team up with people that support your dreams and remove those that do not from your circle. Also for me, I rely heavily on my faith and I try to make sure that shows up in my work.
