Itinerary for the Everest Base Camp Trek:
Day 1: Arrive in Kathmandu
Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, you'll be met by a representative from your trekking company and transferred to your hotel in Kathmandu.
Day 2: Fly to Lukla, trek to Phakding
Take an early morning flight to Lukla, where your trekking adventure begins. From Lukla, trek to Phakding, a beautiful village situated on the banks of the Dudh Koshi River.
Day 3: Trek to Namche Bazaar
Continue trekking along the Dudh Koshi River and cross the famous Hillary Suspension Bridge. Trek through beautiful pine forests and reach the vibrant village of Namche Bazaar, the gateway to the Everest region.
Day 4: Acclimatization day in Namche Bazaar
Spend a day in Namche Bazaar to acclimatize to the altitude. Take a short hike to the Everest View Hotel, which offers stunning views of Mount Everest, Lhotse, and Ama Dablam.
Day 5: Trek to Tengboche
Trek through the beautiful rhododendron forests and reach the village of Tengboche. Visit the famous Tengboche Monastery, the largest monastery in the Khumbu region.
Day 6: Trek to Dingboche
Continue trekking through the beautiful Imja Valley and reach the village of Dingboche, situated at an altitude of 4,410 meters (14,468 feet).
Day 7: Acclimatization day in Dingboche
Spend a day in Dingboche to acclimatize to the altitude. Take a short hike to Nagarjun Hill for stunning views of the surrounding peaks.
Day 8: Trek to Lobuche
Trek through the beautiful Khumbu Valley and reach the village of Lobuche, situated at an altitude of 4,910 meters (16,108 feet).
Day 9: Trek to Gorak Shep, visit Everest Base Camp
Trek to Gorak Shep, and from there, hike to the base camp of Mount Everest. The hike is challenging, but the views of the Khumbu Icefall and the surrounding peaks are worth the effort.
Day 10: Hike to Kala Patthar, trek to Pheriche
Hike to the summit of Kala Patthar, a popular viewpoint that offers stunning panoramic views of Mount Everest and the surrounding peaks. Trek back down to Pheriche.
Day 11: Trek to Namche Bazaar
Trek back down to Namche Bazaar, passing through the beautiful villages of Pangboche and Tengboche.
Day 12: Trek to Lukla
Trek back to Lukla, where you'll spend the night before your flight back to Kathmandu.
Day 13: Fly back to Kathmandu
Take an early morning flight back to Kathmandu and spend the rest of the day exploring the city.
Day 14: Depart Kathmandu
Transfer to the airport for your flight home or to your next destination.
The best time to go on the Everest Base Camp Trek is from March to May and from September to November. The trek requires a good level of fitness and acclimatization to the altitude, but with the help of experienced guides and porters, the journey is both safe and enjoyable.
