Dream Log #2

This dream was set around Cardiff Bay. I went to Cardiff last month after hearing so many lovely things about the place thorugh my friend Vee. This dream stood out to me. It felt a lot more surreal than other dreams I have had and those I can remember. I was walking around Cardiff Bay with my friend Hyper.

Now Hyper was also a key character in my last dream log. He was the one who was arrested for a murder he didn't commit. In this dream, he's not been arrested, thankfully. He's walking with me in town just his underwear. Though the thing that's weird is that he's got the body of my Dutch-ex, but Hyper's head was still there. Now they've got similar body types, but Pim was taller.

I have written some brutal poetry about both of them. At times I used to think how similar Hyper and my ex was in how they both loved chips, hated cheese and loved the pokemon Lugia. Me and Hyper made up and the wounds have healed.

I do recall we were going through a lot of arcade machines. The bell jingles, the clatter of coins and tickets popping out. I don't remember there being many arcade machines in Cardiff, but there were plenty of slot machines and grabbers. We were talking about random gaming stuff and then all of a sudden Hyper started crying. The tears were invisible if there was any, but his eyes were red.

I wasn't sure how to respond. It's out of character for him. He's normally a person who keeps his emotions to himself and never really shows that kind of side. He said he was feeling lonely, which makes sense as he has at least one long-distance partner. Hence, the reason why I am using nicknames to preserve privacy and dignity. Like I said in my last dream log, I doubt he will ever read this, but sometimes he doesn't want me to mention his partner around certain people.

I'm wondering what all of this means. This is the second time I have dreamt about him in 2 weeks. Facebook always suggests me to add his special person, but I don't because I know it would upset him. Though out of curiosity I looked at her profile and I saw she was engaged and there's photos of her kissing another man.

Maybe they're old, but they are from the past 3-6 months. It seems too recent to end an engagement to be in a relationship with someone far away. I guess it's nothing to do with me, but I hope he's safe and happy with her.

Hyper enjoys energy drinks, one brand in particular. He does try to cut down though, but he is addicted. He also sometimes does fasting and sometimes will only eat one meal a day. If I ever did anything like that, he would tell me to eat and would act concerned.

When doing my research the key things that came up was emotional releases and empathy. A yearning to heal. I wonder if my ex's body and the arcade machines represent nostalgia and the trauma as well as the good times hidden in between them all.

Perhaps all my concerns have all been manifested, buried and have come to life in my dream. People say that beaches are good for your mental health. So is walking. And in the dream, we did a lot of walking. We do a lot of walking together in real life with some of our other friends who play games with us as well.
