Dream Log #1
A Dream About Murder
I've been having some weird dreams lately. I think maybe it's best to write about them, see what they mean, and how to translate them. Sometimes, if I remember, I might translate it into a poem. Some are just strange and out there. One that has stuck in my mind is one about a friend who was murdered. It involves five of my friends. I'm not gonna disclose their real names, just nicknames for this one.
Two of them (Hippie and Shark) are a couple who love to party. I don't know if they are still together now or not. They are often turbulent. The other three are really close friends of mine from my local pokemon go group. I get on well with most of the local people, but I'm closest to Hyper, Stocky and Cinnamon Roll. The couple and the three friends have never met in person, but they know a lot through me.
Hyper said that Shark once tried hitting on him once though. And Shark called Stocky ugly once. Hippie made it clear that he does not trust Hyper or Stocky, even if we did resolve our problems last year. All five of them have helped me out a lot, it's just a shame they will never get on if they all met in real life. Cinnomon Roll would find the heavy drinking and party antics overwhelming. Hyper and Shark hate each other.
I told my friends from the pokemon go group about it and they thought it was weird. Cinnomon Roll said I must be worried about the couple for me to have such a wild dream like that. My friends who were in this dream would most likely never read this, but I know my Dutch ex still reads my posts after our break-up. A lot of dreams I've had have been about him.
Sadly, the friendship I had with the couple has been strained. Shark called me a retard and tried to say I took it out of context and misunderstood. Hippie defended Shark of course. Last time I heard from Hippie, he was at his cousin's wedding, and he said he was depressed and homesick. There's a million other words Shark could have picked.
I dreamt that Hippie was murdered and they arrested Hyper for it. I had convinced myself that it was Shark that did it. Stocky said yeah, it was. It's a common fact that Hippie and Shark drank and smoked a lot and they were regular faces in the corner shops and pubs. It made no sense to arrest Hyper because Shark and Hippie lived up north. Me, Stocky, Hyper and Cinnamon Roll lived in the south. So there's no way that Hyper could have murdered Stain,
So me and Stocky go charging into the police station where Hyper is and we start shouting and declaring Hyper's innocence but the police aren't paying attention to us. It's as if we are invisible. Shark is in hysterics, crying about how their beloved Hippie is gone and their cat has one less dad. Just as I try to go for them, Cinnamon Roll pulls me back and calms me down.
Finally the police paid attention to Stocky and Stocky said to the policeman in reception that Hyper couldn't have murdered Hippie because he had an alibi. Me, Stocky, Hyper and Cimnnomon Roll were doing Pokemon Go raids at the alleged time of death so there was no way Hyper could have killed Hippie.
Shark glares at all of us. And just as the dream was about to reach a conclusion, I woke up. A shame I didn't get to see if Hyper got cleared and we find out it Shark got arrested for killing Hippie.

Wow, this was such a vivid and emotional dream! You described it so clearly that it almost felt like watching a mystery unfold. I love how you tied it to your real friendships — it really shows how dreams can mirror our worries and feelings. Would love to see you turn one of these into a short story or poem!
Dreams for me have so much meaning. Sometimes I get messages from my dreams very interesting peace I have to say. This is such an amazing insightful peace to write a dream, in a really clever and insightful way, it sounds like you are very in-tuned to your dreams. The ending is like what happens next.
Your storytelling captures the intensity and confusion of dreams perfectly. The mix of friendship dynamics and mystery made this an unexpectedly gripping read.
Dreams are something so insane to me. I've read a lot about them and still can't seem to make much sense of a lot of them. Good idea writing em down. If nothing else, you have a clear written memory of your dreams!
Wow, that is some dream. I never like dreaming of death. The last time I did, a few relatives died months apart. Most of my dreams are premonition, I learn to interpret them and take them seriously. I do believe our dreams are like our parallel universe.
