How is everyone? How is life treating you? How are you treating life?

It's finally February, and it feels like Christmas and the cold months are starting to slip behind us. I even bought daffodils the other day, when we were grocery shopping. The last bunch in the store. I love daffs, as they feel like the start of spring. I love the colour yellow. The sun has been shining too.

Things are feeling brighter. Good, optimistic moods come out, like the sun.

I really can't wait for the sun to be shining bright and accompanied by proper warmth again. That warmth that means you can go and sit outside a cafe with a drink, and actually feel the heat on your skin. I cannot describe that feeling of basking like a lizard. I wonder if there is a word for the particular pleasure that comes from feeling sun on your skin, having nowhere to be for an hour or two, and having time to just sit and be. To people-watch, see who is happy and who seems sad - and guess which couples are still close, and which ones no longer have much to say to each other.

Creativity is at its peak, and it's fantastic. I have nearly finished my book I am writing, on the subject of body dysmorphic disorder. It is called 'I am More Than My Reflection,' and it will be released on Amazon worldwide under my pen name of Eva Jean. I have always experienced BDD to varying degrees since my mid-teens, and I hope that the book helps other sufferers. I want to show others that BDD doesn't need to be all-consuming, that you can still move forward with your life. That you can be tenacious, passionate, BRAVE.

AND - you CAN have matching socks occasionally! (A miracle in my house)

Odd socks matter too

I am also working on completing several little horror stories, which I love doing.

Collabs are also underway, and in the pipeline. Exciting times, and what I dreamed of for years! I hope I can do them justice.

Enjoying a mix of comedies and horror at the moment; comedy really helps lift my mood when it is needed. Horror is amazing, but horror and comedy are like dark and light: you need BOTH.

After all, life is both. Though it should be mostly light if you can sway it that way.

I am chuffed to bits, having just slaved away on finishing a much longer short horror tale which will be narrated and released on my podcast in the next few weeks. As a slightly ADHD woman, I am either easily distracted, or HYPER-FOCUSSED on the task in hand, if it requires special immediate attention. Tonight I got focussed on finishing the story, wrapping up its conclusion in a chilling, satisfying ribbon, and making sure all the words I wanted were in the right order (sometimes trickier than it sounds for a fiction tale!)

I read out loud the story (which gained the approval of my partner, who seemed to like it) and made the final changes. It has a 'Day of the Triffids' kind of vibe, and a slower, more character-driven plot than many of my other stories. I might even publish it here too, so you can have a read and see what you think.

Currently listening to lovey-dovey music (I am a sucker for it sometimes) and been finishing off writing, narrating and completing these rambles to be uploaded into the sky so that fellow human beings can read my brain wafflings. Hope they're not too waffly for you, and that you enjoy them in some way.

Night all!
