Avocado oil ~

Cold pressed from the flesh of the avocado fruit , avocado oil is a heavy carrier oil that is slow to absorb into the skin and it doesn't leave a greasy residue. This very common and affordable oil is rich in vitamins A, B , D , and E , as well as beta carotene which is a antioxidant that converts into vitamin A and is great for your health. It is also a deeply penetrating oil , making it perfectly suited for mature , dry or sun damaged hair and skin types.

Good for : Avocado oil is best suited for regenerative and hydrating style applications such as body butter's , eye cream's , and also deep hair conditioners. Added in small amounts to your favourite moisturiser , avocado oil can help smooth fine lines and wrinkles while re-hydrating and improving your overall skin texture.

Pro's and Con's : Avocado oil is a deeply nutritive oil that works best when diluted with other , lighter carrier oils. It has a comedogenic rating of 3 , meaning it may clog your pores and can cause breakouts , which makes it particularly important to dilute this when used on the face. Not only does avocado oil nourish and strengthen hair , but it also promotes new and healthy hair growth.

Safety considerations : NO known adverse side effects have been reported for Avocado oil.

Storage : Avocado oil has a shelf life of one to one and a half years when stored under proper conditions. For the longest shelf life , store avocado oil in a dark bottle in a cool and dark location. For avocado oil refrigeration is recommended.

Recommendations: For dry or mature skin , avocado oil can be added in small amounts to your favourite facial moisturisers , face creams and eye creams. Apply a few drops of avocado oil to the heels of your feet daily to keep them lovely and smooth and finally for an easy hair growth conditioner you can mix one ounce of avocado oil with nine drops of Rosemary essential oil , then apply to your hair , working from your ends up to your scalp. cover your hair for up to 10 to 15 minutes before shampooing twice and then condition as usual.

Remember to always use oils in moderation and to discontinue use immediately if any discomfort or rashes appear , Please do not use oils when pregnant without speaking to a consultant or midwife first. Also for applications on children and elderly please ensure you use smaller amounts. If you have any concerns before using a new carrier or essential oil please consult a professional first. Just like prescription medications , natural healers such as aromatherapy oils can cause adverse side effects when over used. Avocado oil is usually but not always used in aromatherapy blends , which is a mixture of carrier oils and essential oils. These aromatherapy blends are used for both healing and for pleasure , such as mood booster or a relaxant. Aromatherapy is an incredible practice to add to your daily or weekly routine as the health benefits from it is endless!
