A Random Day in My Life as a Graphic Designer
Zero Skills to Global Clients: My Real Graphic Design Story

So, what exactly does a freelance graphic designer do all day?
Do we work in our shorts all day? Yes.
Are we addicted to caffeine? Also yes.
Are we always staring at our screens and have poor eyesight? Absolutely.
Today, I woke up at 9 a.m., got ready, made my bed, and made breakfast. For me, Saturdays tend to be my busiest days of the week.
I believe I have a great work-life balance.
I like to work on my business, but I also like to enjoy myself.
To be honest, I don’t see designing as work anymore; I see it as a hobby that turned into a profession. But it wasn’t always this smooth.
Let me take you back to 2019, the year I created my first Fiverr account. When I created that account, I had zero skills. I mean literally, nothing.
Just three weeks later, I got my very first order.
It was a logo design for a lady who worked at an NGO. The logo was also for her NGO.
The price? $10.
Now here’s the fun part—I had no idea how I was going to complete that order.
Still, I read her requirements carefully and started designing a logo using Canva, not from templates, but using Canva elements. After a lot of trial and error, I submitted the logo. She liked the design but wasn’t satisfied with the font style. I changed the font around 20 times. Still no. Eventually, she was okay with one version and approved it.
She gave me a 5-star review and even tipped me $5.
That was my first-ever online income, and trust me, I was sooooo happy and satisfied at that moment.
That one logo changed everything for me.
Fast forward to now — I’ve completed over 1500+ projects, worked with 300+ clients from 30+ countries.

So what’s a day in my life like now? Let me walk you through it.
I usually wake up at 9 a.m., check my messages and emails, then freshen up. By around 9:30, I have breakfast and start working until about 12 noon.
After that, I take a small break, do a bit of research, and plan new business ideas. I’m also constantly trying to develop my current small business (don’t worry, I’ll tell you what that is soon).
At 1 p.m., I have lunch and take a quick nap — usually until 2:30 or 3 p.m.
After that, I try to continue working on my Business, but honestly, that time is usually a bit slow for me.
Evening time from 6 to 9 p.m. is my entertainment block — that could be watching a movie, cricket match, or random YouTube videos.
But my prime working time is from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. — that’s when I feel most productive and creative.
Oh, and one more thing — somewhere in between all this, I’m constantly chatting (read: fighting) with my girlfriend.
Yup, that’s not just chatting... it's mostly debating who loves whom more and who started the last fight.
That’s the freelance life — messy, flexible, fun, stressful, and deeply satisfying.
And yes, I love working from home, but I also like to change my surroundings.
Sometimes I grab my laptop and work at a cafe. Watching others work around me helps me stay motivated.
I believe this lifestyle is all about balance — building a career you're proud of while also enjoying the little things in life.
