The interview doesn't have to be frustrating if you prepare for it a head of time. The interview process can be daunting but we fore sure work our own nerves before we even go on the interview and meet the person interviewing us. All interviews will be different because not one of us share the same personality we our all unique so every interview may be similar in processes and procedures but every single one will be different then the last one are even the first one for that matter.

I am a certified career advisor and resume reviser before I obtained my skills in this position I had already learned how to ace an interview with my many job duties I had acquired and my winning personality and smile. I have worked for many prestigious organizations/ businesses such as Nordstrom, city of Gardena, LACMA, and I have mastered the interview questions somewhat like a pro.

Before the interview do your research on the company

1. Look up the company's history, when it was establish, who are the CEOs/founders, what's the business model, who do they serve. Know some important stuff about the company before you interview and always know why you want to work for the organization because that will be one of the interviewers question.

2. Create your resume and cover letter to align with the companies mission statement, make sure your work history match the duties of the position. Your cover letter should not only addresses the hiring manager by name but let them know how you can help the company/ organization grow while following the business model their company has outlined. Take two copies of your resume and cover letter to the interview so you and the interviewer can reference the information doing the interview process.

3. Mock interview; Ask a family member, friend, professional career advisor are someone on a social media website to assist you with going over the interview questions and answers. Practice how you would answer the main interview question (Tell me about yourself). Remember when answering interview questions keep your answers brief to the point and on topic. Describe your work history and duties don't discuss your personal life unless it pertains to the position at hand.

4. Get some goodnights rest before the interview, don't read over your resume the night before the interview, don't think about your cover letter or references before the interview just rest and get a good nights sleep. Arrive at the interview 15 minutes before the interview time so your potential new coworkers and mangers will know you will be on time and you respect other peoples time.

5. During the interview come prepared with copies of your resume and cover letter, come with a stern handshake and don't forget to shake the interviewers hand. Relax and show confidence, smile the whole time you are interviewing and ask the interviewer questions just as they are asking you.

6. Come prepared with at least two to three interview questions you will have for the interviewer, reminder this is a two way street and more like a conversation then an interview. Ask the interviewer questions like "How do you like the position you are in"? "Since working for the organization have you seen growth in the company"? You can always google common interview questions and answers to prepare yourself and go on the labor market information website and see the duties and responsibilities of a particular job title.

7. Last but not least let the interviewer know how you and your skills will be an asset to the organization and describe to them how your skills will benefit their company as a whole.

8. Remember after the interview send a thank you email to the hiring manager and address it to every staff member you encountered during the interview process. Follow up with the interviewer/ hiring manager by calling, sending an email or a thank you letter soon after the interview and don't stop following up until they have hired you are inform you another individual was hired instead.

I promise if you follow my guide just a little you will ace the job interview and win over the hiring manager. Keep in mind that we are all human beings and just like you the interviewer may be nervous as well so again relax and turn your interview into a conversation.

Talk, laugh, get engaged in conversation that it feels like you are speaking to a professional friend and obtain that job you set out for.
