Imagine sitting at your kitchen table, sipping coffee, typing on your laptop and earning money for it.

This is the life of thousands of people, just like you, making a living online by putting their words to work.

In 2023 alone, over 50% of freelancers said writing was their main gig.

If you also want to share your thoughts and emotions onto a page, and actually get paid for it....

I am going to share with you 9 ways (7 in which you have to actively write and 2 in which you can reuse your written content)...

Through which you are also able to make a living with writing.

Also these are the ways in which you require 0 previous experience and little to no upfront cost.

1. Pay per view platforms :

First on the list is pay per platforms I.e. the platforms which pay you on the basis of reads and views your published pieces get in a particular time.

There are many of this type like medium, vocals, newsbreak etc on which you can start writing about whatever topic you like ...

And the platform distribute it according to the audience and niche.

In most cases you don't need to have a big followers list ( but may require to be a paid member of that platform)to get paid.

This can be a be lucrative side hustle to earn at least $500 dollars $1000 + every month with minimum efforts.

2. Freelancing :

Second one is freelancing . It can be your main income source if you established as a good freelance writer in your niche.

You can start here also with no experience but for getting high paying clients you have to gain some testimonials and a clear understanding of your niche.

3. Twitter :

Next is twitter or X. It gives you many sub-ways of earning like you can earn through twitter's ad revenue sharing, subscription model and promoting your digital products.

For earning from the first two ways of twitter, you have to get the paid membership of X along with some followers and views in your tweets.

4. LinkedIn:

This is the place where you didn't get direct money from the platform but clients and opportunities that will pay you to write for them.

On LinkedIn you can upload both feed post and blog post from which you can attract potential clients.

5. Substack/newsletter:

Here also through newsletter or email marketing, you can make money by promoting your digital products or affiliate links.

However, substack will pay you if you activate paid subscription in your newsletter and have a lot of page views.

6. Ebooks

For this you can either select amazon kdp or social media.

On social media platforms like instagram or facebook, you have to build a loyal audience base and trust among them.

On Amazon, you can simply upload your ebook through kdp , but you have to promote it extensively to get continuous sales or wait for organic sales.

7. Guest post

This is where you can get paid by writing for other's blogs and websites.

Many sites accept guest posts for which they offer certain amounts.

This can be a good starting point for beginners and the one who want to build a portfolio of published works.

Passive ways

8. Turn your article to youtube videos

I watch many writers doing this thing on YouTube. That's why I included this.

He simply opens his blog post on screen, shows his face and reads and explains each topic one by one.

You can also do this either showing your face or just doing voiceover.

9. Turn your articles to podcast

This is the way I came to know today. So I don't have much to say about this.

The method is that you can turn your articles to podcast by using some AI tools like elevenlabs and post it to Spotify.

After that you can join Spotify partner program and earn through this.

(Correct me if I am wrong)

Summary

Making a living by writing online is not as hard or impossible as you think.

You just have to start somewhere. With time, you are able to see different opportunities coming to your way.

All the ways I mentioned above requires, time, dedication to learn and patience.
