You advertise your goods or services, a customer views, buys and makes payment online. You then deliver the goods or services to the customer.

Why an online business?

You reach a wide customer base. With advertisements on your social media accounts and pay per click advertisements, you can reach a wide customer base worldwide.

It’s always open, thus customers can buy goods or services anytime, day or night. All you have to do is make sure you deliver your customers' goods or services on time.

You don't need a physical store as the business takes place online. You will save a lot of money by not buying or leasing a physical store.

It is flexible, hence you can work from anywhere. You can work from the comfort of your home or even when on vacation. All you need is a laptop and an internet connection.

Research is collecting and analyzing information concerning your target customers and your product or service. You should conduct research before you go into online business.

You should get to understand who your customer is and what will set you apart from your competitors. Ask yourself what new ideas you are bringing into the industry. Do competitor analysis; know their strengths and weaknesses. This will give you an edge over your competitors.

2. Customer satisfaction

You should offer your customers the best possible service.

It's important to build a website that performs well on both web and mobile devices for ease of access by your customers. You need to make your customers feel valued and appreciated by answering their emails on time.

You should endeavor to see that your products are of the best quality and follow up to make sure customers' deliveries get to them on time and in good condition.

3. Build social proof

Social proof is confirmation that customers bought your product or service and found a value for their money.

Most customers read reviews and view ratings before they purchase any product or service. Reviews help potential customers to trust in the products or services you are offering.
