Tarun Wig: A Visionary Entrepreneur Driven by Passion and Innovation

Tarun Wig, an entrepreneur and co-founder of Innefu Labs, has always been inspired by a strong desire to innovate and lead in the technology sector. Born and raised in Delhi in a middle-class joint family, Tarun’s early years were shaped by close relationships with cousins and elder siblings who instilled in him core values that continue to guide his journey today. His brothers-in-law, in particular, encouraged him to read widely, broadening his perspective and fueling his interest in technology and business.

After completing his schooling at Montfort Senior Secondary School, a Christian missionary institution, Tarun pursued a degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering at Bharati Vidyapeeth University (BVP). It was during his time at BVP that his interest in cybersecurity deepened, particularly in the intersection of hardware and software. The university's strong engineering department provided the perfect platform for him to explore both software development and programming, setting the stage for his future entrepreneurial ventures.

While still in college, Tarun co-founded his first company, Appin Group of Companies, where he played an instrumental role in training engineering students in niche technologies. The company soon expanded its focus to offer cybersecurity services to corporate and government institutions. Under his leadership, Appin grew rapidly, reaching a valuation of INR 14 crore and securing its first round of funding. After four years, Tarun decided to sell his stake and co-found Innefu Labs, a company dedicated to developing cutting-edge cybersecurity products rather than offering services.

Innefu Labs, founded with the vision of creating indigenous security products, soon gained recognition for its innovative solutions. Tarun reflects on his journey, acknowledging that while passion has been a driving force, building a successful business requires careful attention to operational details. Over the years, he has learned the importance of strengthening internal processes, ensuring the company moves from a people-dependent structure to a process-oriented one.

Despite the challenges of growing a product-based startup, Innefu Labs has achieved steady success, thanks to its consistent focus on product quality and strong client relationships. One of the company's notable achievements was developing and deploying an Internet monitoring system across an entire state, as well as creating a link analysis engine for the Delhi Police, which continues to be used successfully. Innefu’s work with government organizations, including DRDO and various state police departments, has earned the company numerous referrals and strengthened its reputation.

Tarun credits much of his success to his co-founder, who balances his instinctive decision-making with data-driven insights. Their collaborative approach has helped them navigate the ups and downs of entrepreneurship, from the early struggles of gaining market acceptance to achieving stable growth over the past few years.
