Patience Murray: Singer, Author, and Storyteller Empowering Women Through Healing and Creativity

Visionary Women Spotlight

By Tammy ReesePublished about a month ago 5 min read

Patience Murray is a multifaceted artist and visionary, whose work spans music, poetry, storytelling, and motivational speaking. As the founder of Pages of Poetry, a multimedia publishing and production company, she creates space for her original music, writing, and the Healing Her Halo podcast, a safe haven for women trauma survivors seeking guidance, hope, and empowerment. With a commitment to mental health and personal growth, Pae blends creativity and healing, sharing actionable tools and inspiration for women on their own journeys. Recently returning to the public speaking stage at the SheIsMe conference, she continues to demonstrate how authenticity, resilience, and purpose can transform both life and art.

You founded Pages of Poetry, a multimedia publishing and production company. What inspired you to create a space dedicated to your own storytelling and creative work?

Patience: Since I was a little girl, I've envisioned building a multimedia publishing and production company of my own - something reminiscent of what Oprah Winfrey and Tyler Perry created. They were the first examples of people in entertainment who looked like me and came from adversity, yet used their stories as a foundation for impact. Seeing how they turned their challenges into purpose and legacy showed me that creativity and healing can coexist - and that both can change lives.

Pages of Poetry was born from that same intention. After everything I've lived through, storytelling became my way of reclaiming my voice. I wanted a space where I could create freely, truthfully, and without limitations - a home for my music, writing, spoken word, and media projects. Right now, it's where I publish and produce much of my own original work, but ultimately it's the blueprint for something bigger. I'm laying the foundation to one day bring in other creatives, survivors, and storytellers so we can scale together and amplify voices that deserve to be heard.

Your company produces the Healing Her Halo podcast and publishes your original music. What has been the most rewarding part of building this platform?

Patience: The most rewarding part of building this platform is witnessing how technology has made it easier than ever to tell your story and create space for others to do the same. There's a powerful awareness that comes with knowing you can use these tools to craft a unique digital footprint - one that will outlive you. That consciousness, that understanding that my work can live beyond me, has been the most rewarding part.

Healing Her Halo podcast has become a safe space for women trauma survivors. What do you hope listeners - especially women healing from trauma - gain from each episode?

Patience: I hope women walk away with actionable steps they can take and faith they can borrow from other women - especially on the days they don't have any for themselves. I want them to know they can make it, and that there is real hope available to them if they take the time to apply the healing tools and tips shared in each episode. My prayer is that each episode becomes a small reminder that they are not alone and that healing is possible.

You've shared that mental health is deeply important to you as you continue unlocking what you need to be your best self. What does healing currently look like for you?

Patience: Healing has become the most intentional form of self-love I can give myself. Especially since becoming a mom, I realized I could no longer coast through life without truly understanding what was working for me. I needed to know what actually helped me heal and what genuinely moved the needle forward, so that when life got tough, I could double down on the tools that grounded me.

Because at the end of the day, I want to consistently be the best version of myself for my children.

Healing, for me, is a daily lifestyle. It looks like prayer, affirmations, mirror work, journaling, mindfulness, and creativity. It's the conscious choice to show up for myself so I can keep showing up for the people I love.

What practices or boundaries have become essential for you as you strive toward optimal health?

Patience: I've been practicing radical self-compassion, gratitude, and a constant awareness of God's love for me. Those three practices have become essential to my emotional, mental, and spiritual health. Even when I fall short, I choose to immediately love on myself and remind myself that I'm still making progress. When I feel upset, I intentionally shift into gratitude and focus on what's good. And whenever fear, worry, or anxiety tries to creep in, I ground myself in the truth of how big my God is - how deeply He loves me, and how He would never bring me this far just to leave me. For me, the daily practice is radical reframing, and the boundary is refusing to let negative thoughts or emotions linger.

You recently returned to the stage with your first speaking engagement in a while at the SheIsMe conference. How did it feel to step back into that space?

Patience: It felt like alignment. I almost forgot that when I speak, good things happen. Sometimes we go so long operating outside of our gifts - or remain hidden for so long - that we forget the power that's released when we align with God's vision for our lives. Stepping onto that stage reminded me that my story and my creativity still have value in this world. And I think we all need that reminder sometimes - through action, through obedience, through saying yes, preparing, and coming out of the shadows into the spotlight of our calling. It truly felt like me stepping into my destiny.

What message did you share at SheIsMe, and why was it important for you to speak on it at this time in your life?

Patience: I spoke about becoming a magnetic woman through the lens of fully healing and being clear about who you are. I chose this message because it reflects exactly where I am in my own journey - radical self-acceptance and pristine clarity about the woman I'm becoming. I'm learning that when you get honest about who you are, align your actions with your God-given vision, and commit to doing the inner and outer work, you naturally become magnetic. You start attracting the opportunities, relationships, and breakthroughs that are aligned with a healed, happy, and whole version of you. It was important for me to speak on this now because I'm living it in real time, and I wanted other women to know that their own alignment can unlock that same power.
